 (9)  S 424-043Cut and bond the sponge plugs in the ends of fuselage and the door seals in the hinge area. (a) Cut the plugs from silicone sponge rubber to fit 2 inches inside the seal ends. (b) Clean inside of seal ends with methyl ethyl ketone , isopropyl alcohol, or ethyl alcohol and allow to dry. (c) Apply thin coating of adhesive to inside of seal ends and outside of sponge plugs. (d) Put the plugs in ends of seals and allow to dry 48 hours at room temperature before you can cut the seals. (e) Cut the seals on angle as necessary to make mating compressive surfaces when the door is closed. (f) Apply sealant on seal ends and plugs and put splice fabric in adhesive to cover the cut surface. (g) Apply three to four coats of adhesive over the splice fabric to build a protective cover.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
On the Auxilary External 2 Power Center-Right panel P715: 1) NOSE CARGO DOOR

 (b)  
On the Power Distribution Center-Right panel P415: 1) 415F16, NOSE CARGO DOOR CONTROL

 (c)  
On the Nose Cargo Door Power panel H122: 1) DOOR LIFT 2) PULL UP CAM 3) LATCHES 1-4R 4) LATCHES 1-4L 5) LATCHES 5-8R 6) LATCHES 1-4L

 S 864-024
 (2)  
Fully close, latch and lock the nose cargo door.

 (3)  
Remove the safety barrier across the door opening.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
On the Auxilary External 2 Power Center-Right panel P715: 1) NOSE CARGO DOOR

On the Power Distribution Center-Right panel P415: 1) 415F16, NOSE CARGO DOOR CONTROL

 (c)  
On the Nose Cargo Door Power panel H122: 1) DOOR LIFT 2) PULL UP CAM 3) LATCHES 1-4R 4) LATCHES 1-4L 5) LATCHES 5-8R 6) LATCHES 1-4L

Remove the screws and remove the panel.

 (2)
Disconnect the electrical wires and remove the switch.
