Close latches.
 1)  Remove cover from latch actuator manual drive port.
 CAUTION: DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO OPERATE LATCH ACTUATOR.
_______ POWER TOOLS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE BY EXCEEDING TORQUE LIMITATIONS. MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TORQUE IS 70 POUND-INCHES. WHEN MANUALLY OPERATING POWER UNIT, STOP CONTACT IS FELT BY A SUDDEN TORQUE RISE WHICH IS NOT TO EXCEED 70 POUND-INCHES.
 2)  Insert a 1/2-inch drive speed wrench in manual drive socket and rotate manual drive clockwise to latch cargo door.

 3)  If the door has electrical power, make sure the LATCHES CLOSED lights come on.
 (d)  Lock door latches.
 1) Close master latch lock handle as follows:

 a)  Observe that pressure relief doors are open prior to closing handle.
 CAUTION:_______DO NOT FORCE HANDLE. IF RESISTANCE IS FELT OPERATE LATCH ACTUATOR MANUALLY TO REMOVE INTERFERENCE BETWEEN LATCH CAMS AND LOCAL SECTORS. LATCH CAMS NOT FULLY CLOSED COULD CAUSE HANDLE MECHANISM SHEAR RIVET TO SHEAR.
 b)  Close handle and latch it into its recess. Observe the pressure relief doors closing while moving handle to closed position.
 c) If the door has electrical power, make sure the LATCHES CLOSED lights go off. 2) Check that cargo door warning message on EICAS is extinguished.
 (4)  
Open or close door with one or more electrically inoperative actuators.

 (a)  
Operate door electrically per "Open and close door electrically" paragraph, until electrically inoperative actuator stops door operation. Release door control switch.

 (b)  
Bypass the inoperative actuator function manually per applicable procedure in "Open door manually" paragraph or "Close door manually" paragraph.

 (c)  
Continue electrical operation with control switch per "Open and close door electrically" paragraph.

 (5)  
Open or close door with a jammed actuator or mechanism.

 (a)  
Operate door electrically as described in "Open and close door electrically" paragraph, until jammed actuator or mechanism stops door operation. Release door control switch.

 (b)  
Bypass jammed actuator or mechanism per applicable procedure "Open door with jammed actuator or mechanism" or "Close door with jammed actuator or mechanism" that follows.

 (6)  
Open door with jammed actuator or mechanism.

 (a)  
Bypass jammed master latch lock handle mechanism (if
 applicable).

 

 NOTE: If shear pin in external handle is sheared, the
____ internal handle can still be operated to unlock the latches. If the mechanism is jammed, proceed as follows:
 1)  Remove panel from inner surface of door.
 2)  Disconnect lower master latch lock handle pushrod from master latch lock torque tube.
 3)  Using a strap wrench, rotate master latch lock torque tube to retract the latch lock sectors and open the pressure relief doors.
 (b)  
Bypass jammed latch mechanism (if applicable). 1) Remove five access panels from lower edge of door and two midway up the door. 2) Disconnect each of the five lower latch pushrods and two midspan latch pushrods from the latch torque tubes.

 3)  Using a strap wrench, rotate each latch cam shaft to unlatch the door.

 (c)  
Bypass jammed hook mechanism (if applicable). 1) Remove forward and aft access panels from lower edge of

 door.
 2) Disconnect pushrods from lower hook torque shafts.
 3) Using a strap wrench, rotate each hook shaft to unhook
 the door.
 (d)  Bypass jammed lift mechanism (if applicable).
 1)  Remove two ceiling panels from the second row of ceiling panels inboard of the door for access (if installed), and disconnect lift actuator links from door fittings.
