 M. Hinge Access Clearance Door Adjustment (Fig. 506)

 (1)  
Make sure the nose cargo door is closed and latched.

 (2)  
Make sure the flushness between the hinge access clearance doors and the body skin is -0.03 to 0.06 inch (-0.76 to 1.52 mm).


 NOTE: For fair tolerance a negative value is inset to the fuselage
____ structure. A positive value is outward from the fuselage structure.

Adjust the hinge access door, if it is necessary, to get the correct flushness.

 (a)  
Measure the flushness.

 (b)  
Open the nose cargo door to get access to the adjustable rod on the hinge access door.

 (c)  Adjust the adjustable rod on the hinge access door to get the correct flushness.
 NOTE: One turn of the adjustable rod changes the Dimension A
____ by approximately 0.50 inch (12.70 mm).
 (d)  
Close and latch the nose cargo door.

 (e)  
Make sure the flushness is -0.03 to 0.06 inch (-0.76 to 1.52 mm)

 (f)  
Make sure to tighten locknut and install lockwire.

 (4)  
With the door fully closed and latched, pull the hinge access door with a force of 20 to 30 pounds and make sure the door does not lift more than 0.010 inch (0.25 mm).##

Do an adjustment for the warning switches on the nose cargo door (AMM 52-71-00/501), if it is necessary.

Nose Cargo Door System Test

Do a system test for the nose cargo door.

Put the Airplane Back To Its Usual Condition.

Make sure the door is fully closed and latched.

Remove the electrical power, if it is not necessary.

Remove the safety barrier across the door opening.
