WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE
DOOR AND THE DOOR OPENING WHEN YOU OPERATE THE DOOR.
FAILURE OF THE LIFT MECHANISM COULD CAUSE THE DOOR TO
CLOSE QUICKLY WHICH COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
(e) Close door.
1) Close door by placing and holding inside or outside door control switch in the CLOSE position until door is fully closed and latched. (DOOR UP lights will go off as door moves from full up position.) Hold switch in position for approximately 5 seconds after door is faired to allow latch cams to reach fully latched position (LATCHES CLOSED lights come on).
NOTE: Power unit may be operated through two complete
____ cycles within a 10-minute period with 30-second waits between each half cycle. Exceeding these limits can cause thermal protective switch in power unit to trip and shut power unit off.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT FORCE HANDLE. IF RESISTANCE IS FELT, OPERATE LATCH ACTUATOR MANUALLY TO REMOVE INTERFERENCE BETWEEN LATCH CAMS AND LOCK SECTORS. LATCH CAMS NOT FULLY CLOSED COULD CAUSE HANDLE MECHANISM SHEAR RIVET TO SHEAR.
2) Raise and stow internal or external manual latch lock handle in its recess and check that cargo door warning indication on EICAS extinguishes and LATCHES CLOSED lights go out. (POWER ON light will remain on.) Check that pressure relief doors are open prior to closing handle and are closing while moving handle to closed position.
NOTE: A visual check that pressure relief doors are closed
____ (relief door outside contour flush with outside contour of cargo door) will verify that cargo door latches are closed and locked.

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR IN WINDS EXCEEDING 40 KNOTS OR LEAVE
_______ THE DOOR OPEN IN WINDS EXCEEDING 65 KNOTS. STRUCTURAL DAMAGE MAY OCCUR.
POWER TOOLS USED TO OPERATE LIFT ACTUATOR MANUALLY MUST BE LIMITED TO 500 RPM MAXIMUM.
DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO OPERATE HOOK OR LATCH ACTUATORS.

Open door manually.
(a)
Unlock door latches.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT FORCE HANDLE OPEN. HANDLE IS SPRING LOADED TO OPEN BY ITSELF. IF HANDLE DOES NOT OPEN, CHECK THAT RETAINER OVER INTERNAL HANDLE IS NOT SECURED CLOSED.
1) Push in on master latch lock handle release trigger and check that handle rotates all the way open.
2) If the door has electrical power, make sure the LATCHES CLOSED lights come on.
(b) Unlatch door. 1) Remove cover from latch actuator manual drive port.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO OPERATE LATCH ACTUATOR.
_______ POWER TOOLS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE BY EXCEEDING TORQUE LIMITATIONS. MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TORQUE IS 70 POUND-INCHES. WHEN MANUALLY OPERATING POWER UNIT, STOP CONTACT IS FELT BY A SUDDEN TORQUE RISE WHICH IS NOT TO EXCEED 70 POUND-INCHES.
2) Insert a 1/2-inch drive speed wrench in manual drive socket and rotate counterclockwise (approximately 90 turns) until stops are contacted.
3) If the door has electrical power, make sure the LATCHES CLOSED lights go off.

(c) Unhook door (preferred procedure). 1) Remove cover from hook actuator manual drive port.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO OPERATE HOOK ACTUATOR. USE OF POWER TOOLS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE BY EXCEEDING TORQUE LIMITATIONS. MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TORQUE IS 70 POUND-INCHES. WHEN MANUALLY OPERATING POWER UNIT, STOP CONTACT IS FELT BY A SUDDEN TORQUE RISE WHICH IS NOT TO EXCEED 70 POUND-INCHES.
2) Insert 1/2-inch drive speed wrench in manual drive socket. 3) Rotate hook drive counterclockwise until restraint arm
stop is contacted. Back off 3 to 5 turns.
