 one end of the shear pin. 2) Prevent the shear pin from moving with a duplicate drive-punch or a block put against the opposite end. 3) Lightly tap the drive-punch to make a small flange on the shear pin. 4) Do steps 1) through 3) on the opposite end of the shear pin. 5) Make sure the shear pin cannot be removed when moderate hand pressure is applied on each end. 6) Replace the interior lining in you used the access hole that is adjacent to the shear pin.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE FORCE TO CLOSE THE HANDLE. IF YOU USE FORCE TO CLOSE THE HANDLE, DAMAGE TO THE LINKAGES OR MECHANISMS OF THE DOOR CAN OCCUR.

Carefully close and latch the external master latch lock handle.

Make sure the external handle closes without the use of force.

If force was use as you close the handle, examine the mechanisms as follows:


 CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
 (a)  Open the door and examine the mechanisms for blockage to the operation of the lock sector.

 (b)  If no blockage was found, close the door electrically.  Hold
 the door control switch in the CLOSE positon for 5 seconds
 after all electrical operations have stoped.
 NOTE:____ This is to make sure that all latch cams are fully
 closed.
 (c)  Close the external master latch lock handle.

 (7)  If force is still used, adjust the latch mechanism (Ref 52-32-00/501).

 CAUTION: DO NOT USE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR SHEAR PINS OR RIVETS SPECIFIED

 (8)  
Replace the shear pin in the internal handle (Section C-C).

 (a)  
Close the door electrically. Hold the switch in the CLOSE position for 3 seconds to make sure the latch cams are fully latched.

 (b)  
Operate the external handle to the half closed position to get access to the shear pin on the internal handle.

 (c)  
Remove all damaged pieces of the shear pin from the internal handle and bellcrank.

 (d)  
Examine the bushings in the internal handle and bellcrank for damaged holes and rough surfaces.

 (e)  
Replace the bushings if it is necessary.

 (f)  
Align the holes in the internal handle and bellcrank assembly and install the new shear pin.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE FORCE TO CLOSE THE HANDLE. IF YOU USE FORCE TO CLOSE THE HANDLE, DAMAGE TO THE LINKAGES OR MECHANISMS OF THE DOOR CAN OCCUR.

 (g)  
Carefully operate the internal latch lock handle and latch it in position.

 (h)  
Make sure the internal handle closes without the use of force.
