DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING
THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR.
WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF
THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10
MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
a) Open the door as it is necessary to remove the forward guide roller ramp, ramp channel, and shims from the latch fitting.
WARNING:_______ DO NOT GET SOLVENTS IN YOUR MOUTH, OR YOUR EYES,
OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM
SOLVENTS. SOLVENTS ARE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS.
SOLVENTS MAY BE FLAMMABLE OR HARMFUL TO THE
ENVIRONMENT. REFER TO PRODUCT MATERIAL SAFETY
DATA SHEETS (MSDS) AND LOCAL REQUIREMENTS FOR
PROPER HANDLING PROCEDURES.
b) Clean the parts with solvent, Series 92 (AMM 20-30-92).
c) Use a plastic tool, if it is necessary, to remove all the unwanted sealant.
d) Add or remove shims, as it is necessary, to make sure the clearance between the forward guide roller ramp and the guide roller is from 0.020 to 0.030 inch with the door fully closed.
e) Apply sealant to all mating surfaces of the forward guide roller ramp, ramp channel, shims, and latch fitting.
f) Apply sealant to the fastener threads, shanks, and
countersinks.
g) Install the parts.
h) Apply sealant to fully cover the nuts.
i) Use solvent to remove the unwanted sealant from the
surface of the guide roller ramp.
j) Close the door to the fully closed position.
k) Make sure the clearance between the guide roller ramp
and the guide roller is from 0.001 to 0.030 inch after
you apply the sealant.

5) Open the cargo door as it is necessary to get access to the guide roller ramp.

6) Make sure the clearance between the guide roller ramp faces is from 4.27 to 4.31 inches.
7) If the clearance is not between 4.27 to 4.31 inch, adjust guide roller ramp as follows: a) Remove the aft guide roller ramp and the shims from the
latch fitting. b) Clean the parts with solvent. c) Use a plastic tool, if it is necessary, to remove all
the unwanted sealant.
d) Add or remove shims, as it is necessary, to make sure the clearance between the guide roller ramp faces is from 4.30 to 4.31 inches.
e) Apply sealant to all mating surfaces.
f) Install the parts.
g) Make sure the clearance between the guide roller ramp
faces is from 4.27 to 4.31 inches after you apply the sealant.
(c) Adjust all the lower latch fittings as follows:
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
1) Open the door as it is necessary for access.
2) Install a dummy latch pin in each latch fitting.
3) Clean the bore of the latch fitting with solvent, if it is
necessary, to remove unwanted sealant. 4) Cut strips of modeling clay approximately 0.22 inch thick,
0.44 inch wide, and 2.5 inches long and wind the clay strips around each dummy latch pin (View B-B). 5) Apply a thin layer of talcum powder to the internal surface
of each latch cam. 6) Close and latch the door electrically. 7) Measure and record the clearance between the latch cam and
bearing plate (Fig. 505).
