THIRD ATTEMPT.
1) Electrically open the door one to two feet. 2) Electrically close the door to its full closed position.
NOTE: You must close the door electrically since the latch
____ position at the electrical shutoff finds if the adjustment of the switch is satisfactory.
3) Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to apply 25 |5 pound-inches of torque to the manual drive of the latch actuator (1) in the clockwise direction.
4) Carefully count the number of turns remaining until the external stops are against each other (closed position, Fig. 402).
NOTE: The external stops must be against each other in
____ 3 |1 turns.

5) If the external stops are not against each other in 3 |1 turns, do these steps: a) Subtract the actual number of turns remaining from the
3 turns.
b) Subtract this difference from the 8 |1/4 turns of rigging in the "switch adjustment" step above.
c) Do the initial adjustment for the latches closed switch with the new value for the 8 |1/4 turns of "switch adjustment".
EXAMPLE: Assume 1 turn remains until stops are
_______ contacted. The 3 required turns minus the 1 actual turn equals 2 turns. Use 6 |1/4 turns (8 |1/4 minus 2) in "switch adjustment" step above.
EXAMPLE: Assume 4 turns remain until stops are
_______ contacted. The 3 required turns minus the 4 actual turns equals -1 turn. Use 9 |1/4 turns (8 |1/4 minus -1) in "switch adjustment" step above above.
6) When the switch is correctly adjusted, install the lockwire on the locknuts.
(e) Adjust the midspan latch open switches as follows (Fig. 403).
NOTE: This procedure is applicable to the two midspan
____ latch open switches. To prevent unnecessary steps, do each step for the two switches before you go to the subsequent step.
1) With the door closed, loosen the locknuts and adjust the switch in the bracket to get the initial adjustment (View A-A).
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
2) Open the cargo door approximately one to two feet.
3) Set the latch actuator (1) until the external stops are against each other (open position) as follows (Fig. 402): a) Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to manually
turn the actuator counterclockwise at 25 |5 pound-inches torque. b) Monitor the point at which the torque increases by 15-20 pound-inches.

c) Turn the manual drive 1/2 turn clockwise.
NOTE: This is when the external stop are against____
each other.
d) Make sure the plungers for the midspan latch open
switch are not fully pushed in.
4) Turn the latch actuator (1) 30 turns clockwise.
5) Make sure the striker plate is not against the switch
plunger.
6) Disconnect electrical connector DX225C from the cargo door
junction box.
