D. Procedure
NOTE:____Only remove parts that it is necessary to examine. After you examine a part, install it and remove the next part you will examine.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE DOOR AND
_______ THE DOOR OPENING WHEN YOU OPERATE THE DOOR. FAILURE OF THE LIFT MECHANISM CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO CLOSE QUICKLY WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
(1) Open the side cargo door for access (Ref 52-32-00/001).
NOTE: You can operate the door manually or electrically.

Remove the latch cams at the latch camshaft in the center of the door (Section F-F).
(a)
Turn the latch cams with your hand to remove the load from the bolt retainer spring.
(b)
Remove the bolt retainer spring from the retainer.
(c)
Remove the bolt from the latch cams.
(d)
Remove the latch cams.
(e)
Remove the spring if it is necessary.

Remove the remaining latch cams (Section E-E).

Remove the bolt retainer spring from the retainer.
(b)
Remove the bolt from the latch cams.
(c)
Remove the latch cams.

Remove the plunger from the master latch lock mechanism (Section D-D).

Open the master latch lock handle.
(b)
Remove the pin and the head fitting from the plunger.
(c)
Remove the spring from the plunger.
(d)
Remove the plunger.

Remove the lockpin from the master latch lock mechanism (Section D-D).
(a)
Open the master latch lock handle.
(b)
Remove the security pin from the lockpin .
(c)
Remove the pivot pin from the trigger.
(d)
Remove the trigger.
(e)
Remove the lockpin.

(Ref 52-32-08/401).
NOTE:____ You must remove and replace only one hinge section at
a time.

If the latch pin assemblies (Figure 602-Sheet 2) do not have the pin stop brackets, make sure that the pins protrude (stick out) from the bearing plate side of the latch fittings.

Do a check of the midspan latch cams for damage, corrosion and other bad conditions.
