 Remove the two door linear actuators (AMM 52-31-02/401).

 Attach sling to the nose cargo door and crane as shown in Fig. 402.

Install the sling over the door.

 (b)  
Attach the cables from the sling to the lift brackets.

Nose Cargo Door Removal

 CAUTION: DO NOT ALLOW DOOR TO OSCILLATE THE LIFT CABLES MORE THAN | 5
_______ DEGREES FROM THE VERTICAL. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LIFT FITTINGS ON THE ATTACHMENT PADS.
 (1)  
Slowly lift the sling to support the door and to remove the cable slack.

 (a)  
Make sure the door weight distributes equally on each lift cable.

 (b)  
Move the crane, if it is necessary, to make sure the lift cable angle is not more than 5 degrees in any direction from the vertical position.

 WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR BEYOND THE FULLY OPEN POSITION OR POSSIBLE
_______ STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WILL OCCUR. DOOR MUST BE SUPPORTED IN THIS POSITION BY ADDITIONAL MEANS TO PREVENT DOOR DAMAGE AND INJURY TO PERSONS IF IT IS ACCIDENTALLY RELEASED BY CRANE.

 (2)  
Remove the hinge bolts, shims, washers and nuts.

 (a)
Install the thread protector on the large hinge bolt.

Move the crane, as necessary, until you can remove the large hinge bolt freely.

 (c)  
Mark the hinge bolts, nuts, washers and shims on each side of hinge bearing to make sure the hinge bolts, nuts, washers, and shims are installed in the same places.
