 CAUTION:_______ IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY.  DO NOT
 OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH.  HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL
 SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR.  WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE
 BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT.  IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN,

 WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
 (b)  
Open the door one to two feet.

 (c)  
Set the latch actuator in the open position (external stops touch each other) (Fig. 403). 1) Use a dial indicator torque wrench to manually turn the

 actuator counterclockwise at 25 |5 pound-inches torque. 2) Find the point at where the torque necessary to turn the manual drive increases by 15-20 pound-inches. 3) Turn the manual drive 1/2 turn clockwise. This is when the external stops touch. 4) Make sure the open switch plungers for the midspan latch are not fully pushed in.

 (d)  
Turn the latch actuator 30 turns clockwise. Make sure the striker plate does not touch the switch plunger.

 (e)  
Disconnect electrical connector DX225C from the cargo door junction box.

 (f)  
Adjust the switch until there is continuity between pins 7 and 8 (aft midspan latch open switch) or pins 5 and 6 (forward midspan latch open switch) of connector DX225C as the latch actuator is turned 8 |1/2 turns counterclockwise. (The switch operates 22 |1/2 turns before the external stops touch.)


 NOTE: The switch must operate as the latch actuator is turned
____ to the open stops (counterclockwise).
 One-half turn of the limit switch locknut will change the switch operation point approximately one turn on the 0 latch actuator.

 (g)  
Install lockwires on the switch locknuts.

 (h)  
Connect electrical connector DX225C to the cargo door junction box.

 (i)  
Turn the latch actuator counterclockwise to the fully open position before you operate the door.

Do the Operational Test for the side cargo door system (Ref 52-32-00/501).

 (10)
 Install the ceiling panels that are inboard of the door.

 SIDE CARGO DOOR - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains this task:
 (1)
examine the side cargo door attach fittings and hinge components.

 B.  
These tasks are included in the task to examine the side cargo door attach fittings and hinge components. Thus, if you do the task to examine the side cargo door attach fittings and hinge components, then it is not necessary to do the following tasks.

 (1)  
do an inspection of the side cargo door hinge mechanism

 (2)  
do an inspection of the side cargo door master latch lock mechanism

 (3)  
do an inspection of the side cargo door latch mechanism fittings and hinge components.

 C.  
The task to examine the side cargo door attach fittings and hinge components gives instructions to examine these components on the side cargo door:

 (1)  
The midspan latch/pin

 (2)  
The latch cam/pin

 (3)  
The latch camshaft

 (4)
