POWER PLANT TRIM TABLES - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This section contains the trim tables referred to by the Power Plant -Adjustment/Test section (Ref 71-00-00/501).
 B.  The trim tables give the Low/High Idle, the Part Power (92.5° PLA), and the Accel/Decel trim data.
 C.  The engine speed targets and the applicable power plant test are as follows:
 (1)  
Idle Speed Check (Test No. 4)

 (a)  
LOW IDLE (%N2)

 (b)  
HIGH IDLE (%N2)

 

 (2)  
Main Engine Control (MEC) Trim (Test No. 6)

 (a)  
PART POWER (P-P) PMC OFF (%N2)

 (b)  
PART POWER (P-P) PMC ON (%N1)

 

 (3)  
Accel/Decel Check (Test No. 8)

 (a)  
STATIC TAKEOFF (T.O.) PMC ON/OFF (%N1)

 D.  
The trim tables contain data for a range of ambient outside air
 temperatures (OAT) and barometric pressures.


 (1)  
The data range for the OAT is -40°F (-40°C) thru 120°F (49°C) in increments of 2°F.

 (2)  
The data range for the barometric pressure range is 21.5 thru 31.0 inches of mercury in increments of 0.5 inches of mercury.

 E.  
The trim data is applicable to an engine with these conditions:

 (1)  
No bleed air load

 (2)  
No electrical load.

 F.  
The tolerances for each speed target (if applicable) are at the bottom of each page.

 CFM56-3B-2 ENGINES AND ARE AUTHORIZED FOR USE ON
 CFM56-3-B1 ENGINES FOR THE ENGINE TRIM BALANCE REQUIREMENTS.

 (1)  Make sure you have the correct trim tables for the engine model.

 CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE AIRPLANE TOTAL TEMPERATURE INDICATION TO GET THE
_______ AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE. AN INCORRECT TEMPERATURE CAN GIVE YOU AN INCORRECT TARGET SELECTION.
 DO NOT USE A MERCURY THERMOMETER IN THE AIRPLANE. IF THE THERMOMETER BREAKS, THE MERCURY CAN TOUCH AIRPLANE COMPONENTS AND CAUSE DAMAGE.
