Set the TEST switch to the FAULT/INOP position.

Make sure these lights come on.
1) The FAULT and APU DET INOP lights.
2) The MASTER CAUTION lights on the lightshield, P7.
3) The OVHT/DET lights on the lightshield, P7.

Set the TEST switch to the OFF position, and make sure that all the lights go off.

_______ FLIGHT RECORDER CIRCUIT BREAKERS. THIS WILL PREVENT THE LOSS OF THE RECORDED DATA.

Open these circuit breakers and and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags.

1) FLIGHT RECORDER AC
2) FLIGHT RECORDER DC

Make sure the applicable circuit breakers are closed on the Load Control Panel P6:

For Engine No. 1:
1) ENG 1 START VALVE
2) ENGINE NO. 1 LEFT IGNITION
3) ENGINE NO. 1 RIGHT IGNITION

For Engine No. 2:
1) ENG 2 START VALVE
2) ENGINE NO. 2 LEFT IGNIITION
3) ENGINE NO. 2 RIGHT IGNITION

WARNING:_______ IT IS NOT SAFE TO DISCONNECT THE AIR CART HOSE IF ENGINE NO. 2
OPERATES ABOVE LOW IDLE POWER AFTER THE ENGINE START. THE
POSITION OF THE HOSE RECEPTACLE IS IN THE INLET HAZARD ZONE FOR
ENGINE NO. 2 (FIG. 201). INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
IF ENGINE NO. 2 OPERATES ABOVE LOW IDLE POWER AFTER THE ENGINE
START, SHUT DOWN ENGINE NO. 2 AND DO THE TROUBLE SHOOTING.
USE THIS PROCEDURE TO START TWO ENGINES WITH THE GROUND SERVICE
AIR CART:
-MAKE SURE THE PERSONS IN THE FLIGHT COMPARTMENT CAN COMMUNICATE WITH THE PERSONS ON THE GROUND.
-START ENGINE NO. 1 WITH THE AIR CART.
-DISCONNECT THE AIR CART HOSE FROM THE AIRPLANE HOSE RECEPTACLE.
-START ENGINE NO. 2 WITH CROSS-BLEED AIR FROM ENGINE NO. 1.
(7) Start the engine (ground service air cart or APU air source).
CAUTION: LOW AIR PRESSURE TO THE STARTER CAN CAUSE LOW ACCELERATION
_______ OF THE N2 ROTOR. A HOT START OR A HUNG START CAN OCCUR.
(a)
Supply the pneumatic power (AMM 36-05-00/201). 1) Use a ground service air cart for the low pressure air
source. 2) Use the APU as the air source. 3) Make sure manifold duct pressure is 30 psi minimum.
(b)
On the forward overhead panel, P5, put these switches to the correct position. 1) Put the FUEL PUMPS FWD and AFT switches for the tank with
the same number as the engine to be started to the ON position. a) Make sure the two applicable LOW PRESSURE lights go
out.
2) If you start Engine No. 1, put these HYD PUMPS switches to the ON position. a) HYD PUMPS "A" ENG 1 b) HYD PUMPS "A" ELEC 2
3) If you start Engine No. 2, put these HYD PUMPS switches to the ON position. a) HYD PUMPS "B" ENG 2. b) HYD PUMPS "B" ELEC 1

4) Put the Engine Ignition switch to the correct position (Fig. 208).
NOTE: You can use one or two igniters to start the engine.
____ If one igniter is used, the next start must be made with the other igniter.
a) Put the switch to the L IGN or the R IGN position to start the engine with one igniter. b) Put the switch to the BOTH position to start the engine with two igniters.
