(h)  If the fuel or the ignition is accidentally stopped, do these steps: 1) Immediately move the start lever to the CUTOFF position. 2) Make sure the fuel valve light on the overhead panel P5
 comes on bright (valve in transit) and then goes dim (valve closed). 3) Continue to motor the engine for a minimum of 60 seconds to clear a fire or fuel or fuel vapors. 4) Put the engine start switch to the OFF position when the engine has become stable. 5) Start the engine again at the maximum motoring speed: approximately 24-28% N2 RPM.
 CAUTION: IF THE EGT INCREASES QUICKLY THRU 700 DEGREES C, THIS IS A
_______ HOT START. DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
 DO THESE STEPS FOR A HOT START:
 -IMMEDIATELY MOVE THE START LEVER TO CUTOFF.
 -MAKE SURE THE FUEL VALVE LIGHT GOES BRIGHT, THEN DIM.
 -PUT THE ENGINE START SWITCH TO THE GND POSITION WHEN THE N2 SPEED IS LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 20%.
 -CONTINUE TO MOTOR ENGINE FOR 60 SECONDS MINIMUM.
 -PUT THE ENGINE START SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION WHEN THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE IS STABLE.
 -WAIT FOR THE ENGINE TO STOP.
 CAUTION: IF THE N2 ROTOR SPEED ACCELERATES SLOWLY AND BECOMES
_______ STABLE AT A SPEED LESS THAN IDLE, THIS IS A HUNG START. THE HUNG START CAN BECOME A HOT START IF THE EGT INCREASES.
 DO THESE STEPS FOR A HUNG START:
 -IMMEDIATELY MOVE THE START LEVER TO CUTOFF.
 -MAKE SURE THE FUEL VALVE LIGHT GOES BRIGHT, THEN DIM.
 -CONTINUE TO MOTOR ENGINE FOR 60 SECONDS MINIMUM TO CLEAR THE FUEL OR FUEL VAPOR FROM THE ENGINE.
 -PUT THE ENGINE START SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION
 -WAIT FOR THE ENGINE TO STOP.
 (i)  Monitor the engine indications as the engine lights up and accelerates for a hot start or a hung start.
 NOTE: An engine lightup will be indicated by a rapid rise in
____ EGT indication. Engine should light up within 10 seconds maximum after start lever is moved to IDLE. N1 and N2 rpm, EGT, FF (fuel flow), and OIL PRESS should be monitored immediately after lightup to ascertain that engine accelerates normally and that EGT does not exceed operating limitations.

(j)  If you have a hot start, do these steps: 1) Immediately move the start lever to the CUTOFF position. 2) Make sure the fuel valve light on the overhead panel P5
 comes on bright (valve in transit) and then goes dim (valve closed). 3) Put the engine start switch to the GND position when the N2 speed is less than or equal to 20% N2. 4) Continue to motor the engine for a minimum of 60 seconds,
 or until the engine temperature is stable. 5) Put the engine start switch to the OFF position. 6) Wait for the engine to stop. 7) Do the trouble shooting for the hot start and correct the
 problem before you start the engine again
 (AMM 71-00-41/101).

 (k)  If you have a hung start, do these steps: 1) Immediately move the start lever to the CUTOFF position. 2) Make sure the fuel valve light on the overhead panel P5
 comes on bright (valve in transit) and then goes dim (valve closed). 3) Continue to motor the engine for 60 seconds minimum to
 clear the fuel or fuel vapor from the engine. 4) Put the engine start switch to the OFF position. 5) Wait for the engine to stop. 6) Use the usual procedure to try to start the engine again. 7) If the hung start occurs again, make a record of these
 engine indications and do the trouble shooting to find the
 cause of the hung start.
 a) The pneumatic duct pressure.
 b) The fuel flow during the engine start.
 c) The maximum N2 value.
 d) The maximum EGT.

 CAUTION: DO NOT PERMIT THE EGT TO INCREASE TO MORE THAN 725°C.
_______ STOP THE ENGINE START IF THE EGT INCREASES TO 725°C. REFER TO THE INSPECTION FOR ENGINE OVERTEMPERATURE LIMITS (AMM 72-00-00/601).
 CAUTION: STOP THE ENGINE START IF N1 OR N2 ACCELERATION DECREASES
_______ OR IF N1 ROTATION STOPS BEFORE REACHING IDLE. A HOT START CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
