Use the four ball lock pins.

Attach the forward lever hoists to the forward cradle mounts.

At the aft bootstrap location attach the cable to the dynanometer.

Put the cable through the cradle pulleys and attach it to the lever hoist.

Power Plant Installation - Bootstrap Method

 S 494-117-C00
 CAUTION:_______ WHEN YOU RAISE THE ENGINE, DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN 4000 POUNDS
 (1820 KG) ON THE FORWARD OUTBOARD AND FORWARD INBOARD
 DYNAMOMETERS, AND 1000 POUNDS (454 KG) ON THE AFT DYNAMOMETER.
 DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
 MAKE SURE THAT THE PRSOV DOES NOT HIT THE PRECOOLER DUCT WHEN
 YOU RAISE THE ENGINE.  DAMAGE TO THE PRECOOLER AND THE PRSOV
 CAN OCCUR IF THE PRSOV HITS THE PRECOOLER.
 MAKE SURE THAT THE CTAI DUCT CLAMP DOES NOT DAMAGE THE FORWARD
 FIRE SEAL ASSEMBLY ON ENGINE INSTALLATION
 MAKE SURE THAT THE POWER FEEDER CONNECTOR (D410) DOES NOT

 DAMAGE THE INLET COWL (IF INSTALLED) ON ENGINE INSTALLATION
 (9)  Raise the engine until it is approximately 6 inches (15 cm) below the strut and engine interfaces (Fig. 422).
 (a)  
Make sure the PRSOV does not hit the precooler.

 (b)  
Install new E-seals (2) in the bleed air duct and the precooler flanges (Fig. 405).

 (c)  
Make sure the starter duct does not hit the strut duct flange.

 1)  Install the metal seal (2) into the strut duct flange (Fig. 409).

 (d)  
Temporarily tie the power feeder connector (D410) and wire (Fig. 409) to the starter duct so that the connector does not stay on the inlet cowl (if installed). 1) If the inlet cowl is installed, the D410 connector can


 cause damage to the inlet cowl when the engine is raised to the strut.

 (10) Make sure all engine connections do not interfere with the strut as you raise the engine.

 (11) Adjust the engine pitch until the forward and aft cone bolts go in their alignment holes at the same time.
 NOTE: On some power plant installations, it may be difficult to
____ align the forward cone bolts with the alignment holes on the engine mounts. When this occurs, manually push the engine until you get a better alignment, then keep this position until the engine is attached to the strut.
