(1)
If not already done, make the airplane level as near to a zero pitch attitude as possible (AMM 08-11-00/201).

Ground the airplane (AMM 20-40-11/201).

Make sure the forward thrust levers are in the idle thrust position.

Make sure the start levers are in the CUTOFF position.
(a)
Install DO-NOT-OPERATE tags to the start levers.

(5)
Supply the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(a)
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BAT switch.

Make sure the FUEL VALVE CLOSED light on the pilots' overhead panel, P5, is on, dim, to show that the valve is closed.

For removal of the No. 1 engine, do this step:
(a)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
1) P6-3 Main Power Distribution Panel
a) SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1
(b)
Install a lockset on the open circuit breaker.

For the removal of the No. 2 engine, do this step:
(a)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
1) P6-3 Main Power Distribution Panel
a) SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
(b)
Install a lockset on the open circuit breaker.

WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE
_______ THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(9) Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground
maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the pressure from the hydraulic system (AMM 29-09-00/201).

Do these steps to do the deactivation of the wing leading and trailing edge devices:
NOTE: These steps give the instructions to do the deactivation
____ of the wing leading and trailing edge devices. To do the deactivation of the wing leading edge devices only, refer to AMM 27-81-00/201.
(a)
Retract the leading edge flaps and slats and install a
DO-NOT-OPERATE tag on the flap control lever.
(b)
Put the ALTERNATE FLAPS switch on the pilots' overhead panel, P5, to the ARM position.
(c)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
1) P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel
a) FLAP SHUTOFF VALVE
(d)
Install a lockset on the open circuit breaker.
(e)
Put the ALTERNATE FLAPS switch to the OFF position.
(f)
Do these steps to put the override lever on the trailing edge bypass valve in the correct position for the engine removal:
NOTE: The override lever is found on the aft bulkhead of
____ the wheel well for the right main landing gear.
1) Make sure the position of the override lever is in position 2. a) If the override lever is not in position 2, manually
move the lever to position 2.

(12) Put the HYD PUMPS ENG switch on the pilots' overhead panel, P5, in the OFF position for the applicable engine.
