WARNING: THE ENGINE IGNITION SYSTEM IS AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WITH
_______ HIGH ENERGY. YOU MUST BE CAREFUL TO PREVENT ELECTRICAL SHOCK. INJURY OR DEATH CAN OCCUR TO YOU. DO NOT DO MAINTENANCE ON THE IGNITION SYSTEM WHEN YOU OPERATE THE ENGINE.
OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR THE IGNITION SYSTEM TO DEACTIVATE THE IGNITION SYSTEM. WAIT FOR FIVE MINUTES OR MORE BEFORE YOU CONTINUE.

You must take precautions when you work on the engine ignition system.

Each engine starter is supplied with low pressure air to start and motor the engine.

This low pressure air is supplied through the airplane pneumatic system from three sources:
(a)
Air from an engine that is in operation.
(b)
Ground vehicles with low pressure, air supply units.
(c)
The airplane auxiliary power unit (APU).

(3) Usual starter cycle.
(a)
Use the starter continuously for two minutes, close the start valve, and do not use the starter again until the N2 speed decreases to zero. Wait for 20 seconds with zero N2.
(b)
Use the starter again for two minutes, close the start valve, and permit the N2 speed to decrease to zero.
(c)
Let the starter become cool for three minutes.
