NOTE: Engine VSV systems that have been dynamically rigged, can
____ have a change to the N1/N2 speed relationship that will prevent the use of variable geometry condition results. A visual check of the MEC rig plate for alignment will show that a dynamic rig has been performed (AMM 75-31-00/501).

TEST NO. 12 - ENGINE DIAGNOSTIC RUN
___________________________________
E. Procedure
S 715-035-C00
(1) Do an idle speed test on each engine (Test No. 4), and record the
low and high speeds on the engine run data sheet (Fig. 501).
NOTE: The engine data for the Idle Speed, Acceleration, Part
____ Power, and MPA tests can be collected in one continuous engine run before analysis. Or, the analysis and related corrective actions can be done after each power level check.
(a) Compare the low and high idle speeds.
1) If the idle speeds are out of limits, then adjust the idle speed (Test No. 4).
NOTE: If the low and high idle speeds are out of limits in
____ the same direction, this can indicate a fault with the MEC N2 speed governing system.
S 715-037-C00
(2) On each engine, do the part power trim test with the PMC OFF (Test No. 6); record the actual N2 speed and target N2 speed on the engine run data sheet.
NOTE: If you do the part power trim test with the PMC OFF, this
____ will help make sure that the MEC N2 speed governing system operates correctly and within limits.
(a) Compare the part power N2 speeds for each engine.
NOTE: N2 speeds must be within limits before you continue
____ with this test. If the MEC N2 speed governing is not correct, N1 speeds will also be incorrect.
