TEST NO. 7 - VIBRATION SURVEY
_____________________________
CAUTION:_______ OPERATE THE CFM56-3-B1 ENGINES AT CFM56-3B-2 POWER
POSITIONS IN THIS PROCEDURE ONLY. THE CONTINUOUS
OPERATION OF THE CFM56-3-B1 ENGINES AT THE CFM56-3B-2
TAKEOFF POWER POSITIONS WILL CAUSE ENGINE PERFORMANCE
DETERIORATION.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE TOTAL TEMPERATURE INDICATION FROM THE
_______ AIRPLANE FOR THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE. MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE LOCAL BAROMETRIC PRESSURE (NOT CORRECTED TO SEA LEVEL) FROM THE CONTROL TOWER. THIS WILL PREVENT AN INCORRECT TRIM TARGET SELECTION.
DO NOT PUT A MERCURY THERMOMETER ON THE AIRPLANE. MERCURY (FROM A BROKEN THERMOMETER) CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE COMPONENTS.
(a) Find and make a record of these conditions:
1) Make a record of the ambient air temperature (outside air temperature (OAT)) in the shade of the wheel well of the nose gear.
2) Make a record of the barometric pressure.
(b)
Find and make a record of the static takeoff (T.O.) power position for the current OAT and barometric pressure. 1) Look at the STATIC T.O. PMC ON/OFF trim data
(AMM 71-00-01/201).
(c)
If it is available, install the test equipment for the engine vibration isolation (Fig. 509). 1) On the circuit breaker panel, P6, open the ENG VIB MON
circuit breaker.
2) Remove the AVM signal conditioner from the main E/E rack (AMM 77-31-03/401). 3) Put the signal conditioner on the floor. 4) Connect the connector (J1) to the test equipment unit on
the electronic shelf connector (D3228). 5) Connect the connector (P1) on the test equipment unit to the signal conditioner. 6) Connect the selector switch to the electrical connector (J2) on the test equipment unit.
7) Open the access door above the main E/E rack. a) Put the selector switch in the flight compartment. b) Put the switch in the COMMON position.
8) Close the ENG VIB MON circuit breaker.
