(2) If you will remove the fuel control box from this engine and install it on the replacement engine, do these steps to remove the fuel control box (Fig. 407A):
NOTE: The steps that follow are optional and can be used if the
____ replacement engine does not have a fuel control box attached, if the fuel control box is not compatible for the airplane model and engine type, or if it is operator policy.
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the power lever angle (PLA) synchro. 1) Remove the PLA synchro wire bundle clamp from the MEC
bracket.
(b)
Remove the two bolts (7), washers (8) and nuts (1) that attach the inner coverplate (2) to the fuel control box.
(c)
Remove the four bolts (4) and washers (5) that attach the coverplate (3) to the fuel control box.
(d)
Move the power lever to get access to the three bolts (6) through the holes in the control box housing and the quadrant gear.

Prepare For the Removal of the Power Plant__________________________________________ Fan Case Disconnects on the Left Side
(e) Remove the bolts (6) and remove the fuel control box.
(3) S 034-021-C00Do these steps to disconnect the fuel supply line: (a) Drain the fuel supply line as follows (Fig. 408): 1) Put an approved container for fuel below the fuel filter drain plug. 2) Remove the drain plug (2) for the fuel filter and let the fuel drain.
NOTE:____ The drain plug (2) is a 13/16-inch fitting.
ú (b) 3) Remove and discard the O-ring (1) from the drain plug. 4) Lubricate a new O-ring (1) with petrolatum and install it on the drain plug (2). 5) Install the drain plug (2), with the threads lightlylubricated with engine fuel. a) Tighten the drain plug (2) to 45-55 pound-inches (5.1-6.2 Newton meters). b) Attach a lockwire to the drain plug (2).Disconnect the 1-1/2-inch fitting on the fuel supply line at the service disconnect panel (Fig. 409).
CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL PROTECTIVE CAPS ON THE FUEL LINE AND CONNECTOR. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL CAPS ON THE FUEL LINE AND CONNECTOR, CONTAMINATION OF THE FUEL SYSTEM CAN OCCUR.
1) Install protective caps on the fuel supply line and fuel connector.
(4) S 034-025-C00Disconnect the 7/8-inch fittings on the left drain line (Fig. 409).
