Procedure
S 862-002-C00
(1) Make sure you follow these instructions in the Power Plant Operation procedure to prepare the airplane:
(a)
Make sure the ramp area, the nose gear tires and the main gear tires are clean and free from contamination and possible FOD (Foreign Object Damage).
NOTE:____A damp ramp surface is permitted. Water, frost, ice, oil, grease, sand or other contaminants are not permitted.
(b)
You must set the parking brake.
1) Make sure the red warning light for the parking brake is ON.
(c)
Make sure the ANTISKID switch, on the center instrument panel P2, is in the OFF position.
(d)
Make sure the nose gear is in the straight forward direction.
(e)
Make sure the ground locks are installed on the nose gear and the main landing gear.
(f)
Put the wheel chocks 6 to 12 inches (15 to 30 cm) in front and aft of the nose gear tires and all the main gear tires.

(2) Find the airplane gross weight.
(a)
The airplane gross weight is the sum of the total empty weight of the airplane with the fuel load necessary to do the engine run, the weight of the crew, and if necessary, a load in the aft cargo compartment. 1) The fuel burnoff during the test must be subtracted from
the airplane fuel load and credited as ballast. 2) You must subtract the weight of equipment that is removed from the airplane (i.e., seats, interior panels, galleys). 3) The airplane must have a minimum fuel load or other loads in the usual CG range of the airplane. 4) It is not always possible to use the fuel load to increase the gross weight because of operational considerations. 5) It may be necessary to unload the fuel after the engine run.
(b)
Make a record of the airplane gross weight.
