1. General

A. This procedure gives the instructions and the necessary conditions that
apply when you move an engine or one of its modules in the equipment
configuration.
(1) A transportation base and cradle that is approved for transportation of an engine by CFMI.
NOTE: The transportation stand and cradle will also be refered to

as a shipping stand in this procedure.
(2) An engine module must be moved in a module shipping container that is approved by CFMI.

(1) These are the minimum attach points that are necessary to move the CFM56-3 engine in the shipping stand.

the two attach points on the fan case
(b)
a minimum of one of the two attach points on the turbine case.

CAUTION: THE SHIPPING STAND MUST BE MADE TO THE CFMI SPECIFICATIONS.

When you move an engine at a speed of less than 0.5 mph (0.8 km/hr):

There are no special conditions or limits.

When you move an engine at a speed of 0.5-3.0 mph (0.8-4.8 km/hr):

The vehicle must have wheels that are spring-loaded with shock absorbers.
(b)
The vehicle must have pneumatic tires or tires made of a soft, flexible material.

When you move an engine at a speed of 3.0-5.0 mph (4.8-8.0 km/hr):
(a)
The vehicle must have a system that absorbs shocks and vibrations that have frequencies of 15 Hz and higher.
