WARNING:_______ REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL POWER BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT
FUEL, HYDRAULIC OR ELECTRICAL LINES. AN ACCIDENTAL OPERATION
OF THE PRESSURIZED FLUIDS OR ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS CAN CAUSE A
FIRE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.

Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(a)
Set the BAT switch on the Electrical Meters Battery and Galley Power Module (P5-13) to the OFF position and install a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

(15) Remove the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-02/401).
NOTE: If you use a fan cowl sling to remove the fan cowl
____ panels, keep the attach fittings installed on the strut.
NOTE: To make the removal of the fan cowl panels easier, use
____ tapered thread protectors.

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(16) Open the thrust reversers (AMM 78-31-00/201).
NOTE: To help you remove the engine more quickly, let two
____ persons open the right thrust reverser first. When the right thrust reverser is open, let one mechanic install the right hold-open rod while the other mechanic opens the left thrust reverser.

WARNING:_______ WHEN YOU INSTALL THE THRUST REVERSER HOLD-OPEN RODS, MAKE SURE
THAT THREE OR MORE COMPLETE TURNS OF THE ADJUSTABLE SCREW ARE
ENGAGED WITH THE TWO CLEVISES. IF LESS THAN THREE TURNS OF THE
THREADS ARE ENGAGED, THE HOLD-OPEN RODS CAN BREAK WHEN YOU
DISCONNECT THE OPENING ACTUATORS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND THRUST REVERSER.
(17) ENGINES WITHOUT THE VIBRATION ISOLATORS FOR THE FORWARD MOUNT/THRUST REVERSER HINGES; Do these steps to attach the hold-open rods for the left and right thrust reversers (Fig. 401):
(a) Use the attached cap screws and washers to attach the hold-open rod fitting to the thrust reverser compression pad.
NOTE: The cap screws and washers are attached to the
____ fitting for storage.
(b) Align the holes in the larger clevis end of the hold-open rod with the hole in the precooler support fitting.
NOTE: The precooler support fitting is attached to the
____ strut compression beam and is aft of the precooler.
1) Install the ball lock pin with the pin end pointed in the aft direction.
(c) Attach the smaller clevis end to the compression pad fitting on the thrust reverser. 1) Install the ball lock pin with the pin end pointed in the
aft direction.
