CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE YOU USE TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT WITH A PNEUMATIC
SUSPENSION. IF YOU DO NOT USE TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT WITH A
PNEUMATIC SUSPENSION, BAD ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR FOR WHICH
MUCH REPAIR WILL BE NECESSARY.
THE ENGINE/SHIPPING STAND POSITION SHOULD BE LENGTH-WISE ON THE
TRANSPORTATION VECHICLE.
(3) Attach the engine shipping stand to the trailer (Fig. 201).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE LOWEST PART OF THE
_______ ENGINE OR CRADLE ON THE SHIPPING STAND AND THE TRAILER BED IS 1.5 INCHES (38 mm). IF YOU USE WOOD SHIMS TO GET THE CORRECT CLEARANCE, MAKE SURE THEY ARE BELOW THE SHIPPING STAND AND ARE NOT IN THE VERTICAL PLANE OF MOVEMENT OF THE ENGINE. NOT SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE CAN CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure there is a minimum clearance of 1.5 inches (38 mm) between the lowest part of the engine or cradle on the shipping stand and the trailor bed.
NOTE: You can use wood shims between the shipping stand and
____ the trailer bed to get the correct clearance.

_______ VIBRATION IS NOT CANCELLED. MAKE SURE THE TIEDOWN CHAINS AND STRAPS ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY AND ATTACH ONLY TO THE TIEDOWN RINGS. IF THE TIEDOWN CHAINS AND STRAPS ARE NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY, THE PROPERTY OF THE SHIPPING STAND THAT ABSORBS VIBRATION WILL BE CANCELLED. THIS COULD CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE FROM G LOADS THAT ARE TOO HIGH.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE FORWARD AND AFT BASE SUPPORTS ON THE
_______ SHIPPING STAND FOR TIEDOWN POINTS. THIS WILL NOT LET THE SUPPORTS MOVE IN RELATION TO THEIR SHOCK MOUNTS WHICH CAN CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE.
(b) Attach the bottom of the engine shipping stand to the trailer bed with tiedown chains or straps:
NOTE: You can use all combinations of the tiedown rings on the
____ bottom of the shipping stand. But, the rings at the four inner corners of the bottom of the shipping stand are recommended.
1) Recommended tiedown procedure: a) Attach the tiedown chains or straps to the rings on the bottom of the shipping stand. b) Pull the tiedown chains or staps diagonally across the trailer bed. c) Attach the tiedown chains or straps to the attach points on the trailer bed. d) Pull all the tiedown chains or straps tight. 2) Alternative tiedown procedure: a) Put the tiedown chains or straps through the fork lift tunnels in the bottom of the shipping stand. b) Pull the tiedown chains or straps forward and aft along the sides of the trailer bed. c) Attach the tiedown chains or straps to the attach points on the trailer bed. d) Pull all of the tiedown chains or straps tight.
