 G.  Prepare for the Power Plant Installation
 S 214-284-C00
 (1) Do an inspection of the forward and aft fireshields as follows:
 (a)  Visually examine the two fireseals for deterioration, holes or missing insulation. 1) If you find damage, do this task: Firewall and Fireseal
 Inspection (AMM 54-52-00/201).

 (2)  
If not already done, do this task: Prepare for the Removal of the Power Plant.

If not already done, do this task: Prepare for the Installation of the Power Plant.

 (4)  
Examine the engine mounts and mating surfaces as follows:


 (a)  Make an inspection of the forward engine mounts and the crossbeam assembly as follows: 1) Look for signs of discoloration caused by heat damage,
 cracks, corrosion, wear, loose fasteners or other signs of damage. a) If you find damage, refer to AMM 71-21-00/601 for the
 permitted damage limits.
 (b) Make an inspection of the aft engine mount as follows:
 1)  Look for signs of discoloration caused by heat damage, cracks, corrosion, wear, loose fasteners or other signs of damage. a) If you find damage, refer to AMM 71-21-00/601 for the
 permitted damage limits.

 Prepare for the Power Plant Installation

 2)  Look for signs of wear on the fire seal in the area close to the aft engine mount (Fig. 422).
 (c)  Make an inspection of the thrust links as follows:
 1)  Look for signs of discoloration caused by heat damage, cracks, corrosion, wear, loose fasteners or other signs of damage. a) If you find damage, refer to AMM 71-21-00/601 for the
 permitted damage limits.
 (d)  If installed, remove the two forward and one aft thread
 protectors.

 CAUTION: APPLY ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO THE CONE BOLT THREADS ONLY.
_______ DO NOT PERMIT THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO TOUCH THE CONICAL SURFACES OF THE CONE BOLTS.
 (e)  Apply antiseize compound to the two forward and one aft cone
 bolt threads.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE THREAD PROTECTORS ARE INSTALLED ON THE CONE
_______ BOLTS. IF THE THREAD PROTECTORS ARE NOT INSTALLED, THE CONE BOLTS CAN BE DAMAGED DURING THE INSTALLATION OF THE POWER PLANT.
 (f)  Install the thread protectors on the two forward and one aft
 cone bolts again.

 (5)  
Make sure that there is a thrust link assembly installed on the engine or strut.

 (a)  
If there are thrust link assemblies installed on the engine and the strut, remove the thrust link assembly from the engine.

 (6)  On the new engine, do these steps to connect the PRSOV to the engine connections (Figs. 404 and 405):
 NOTE: Do not install the PRSOV on the engine ducts at this
____ time. The steps below will only put the PRSOV below its installed position (it will lay on the high pressure compressor (HPC) case). This will make the connections with the engine connections easier.
 (a)  Do these steps to connect the control line to the bleed air regulator to the right side of the PRSOV: 1) Remove the protective caps and apply antiseize compound to
 the fittings on the control line and the union on the PRSOV.
