As an example, an operator has 737-400 airplanes with CFM56-3C-1 engines which are operating at 23,500 pounds thrust. This operator also has intermix capability with CFM56-3B-2 engines operating at 22,000 pounds thrust and derate capability for the CFM56-3C-1 engines to 22,000 pounds thrust.

 (2)  
This operator would have Configuration 5 for the CFM56-3B-2 engines and Configurations 6 and 7 for the CFM56-3C-1 engines at 23,500 and 22,000 pounds thrust. All other configurations are not applicable to this operator and would not be included.

POWER PLANT TRIM TABLES - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This section contains the trim tables referred to by the
 Power Plant - Adjustment/Test (AMM 71-00-00/501).

 B.  The trim tables give the Low/High Idle, the Part Power (92.5° PLA), and the Accel/Decel trim data.
 C.  The engine speed targets and the applicable power plant test are as follows:
 (1)  
Idle Speed Check (Test No. 4)

 (a)  
LOW IDLE (%N2)

 (b)  
HIGH IDLE (%N2)

 

 (2)  
Main Engine Control (MEC) Trim (Test No. 6)

 (a)  
PART POWER (P-P) PMC OFF (%N2)

 (b)  
PART POWER (P-P) PMC ON (%N1)

 

 (3)  
Accel/Decel Check (Test No. 8)

 (a)  
STATIC TAKEOFF (T.O.) PMC ON/OFF (%N1)

 (b)  
HIGH IDLE (%N2)

 (c)  
ACCEL CHECK TARGET (%N1)

 

 D.  
The trim tables contain data for a range of ambient outside air
 temperatures (OAT) and barometric pressures.


 (1)  
The data range for the OAT is -40°F (-40°C) thru 120°F (49°C) in increments of 2°F.

 (2)  
The data range for the barometric pressure range is 21.5 thru 31.0 inches of mercury in increments of 0.5 inches of mercury.

 E.  
The trim data is applicable to an engine with these conditions:

 (1)  
No bleed air load

 (2)  
No electrical load.

 F.  
The tolerances for each speed target (if applicable) are at the bottom of each page.

Alcohol Thermometer - MIL-T-11399, Type ML-5 (or mercury thermometer if not taken on the airplane), -40 to 120°F (-40 to 49°C), | 1/2°F (| 1/4°C) accuracy.

 B.  
Calculate the Target Value (Fig. 201).
