TEST NO. 7 - VIBRATION SURVEY
_____________________________
 5)  Turn the selector switch on the isolation test equipment to find the source of the vibration indications above the limits.
NOTE: You can also examine the history data in the AVM
____ signal conditioner. You will find the AVM signal conditioner in the EE bay area (AMM 77-31-00/201).
 6)  Do the test again for all of the high vibration points that you found (if there are more than one) during the engine acceleration.
NOTE: If the test equipment is not available, find the
____ maximum vibration levels by interrogating the AVM History data (on airplanes with P/N S332T304-16/-23/-25/-27/-30; or S360N021-100/-201 AVM signal conditioners).
 7)  Do the fan rotor trim balance (AMM 72-31-00/501), if you find these conditions to be the source of the high vibration: a) The high vibration is in the N1 rotor only (FAN and/or
 LPT (low pressure turbine)).
 b)  The high vibration is in the N1 rotor (FAN and/or LPT) and the N2 rotor (HPC (high pressure compressor) and the HPT (high pressure turbine)).
 c)  If you find the high vibrations only in the N2 rotor (HPC and/or HPT) and they are more than 3.0 units, then replace the engine (AMM 71-00-02/401).
 (p) Do the engine shutdown (normal) operation (AMM 71-00-00/201).
 (q) If you installed it, remove the test equipment for the engine vibration isolation (Fig. 509). 1) Open the ENG VIB MON circuit breaker. 2) Disconnect the test equipment from the electronic shelf and from the signal conditioner. 3) Disconnect the selector switch from the test equipment
unit. 4) Close the access door above the main E/E rack. 5) Install the AVM signal conditioner (AMM 77-31-03/401). 6) Close the ENG VIB MON circuit breaker.

 9.  Test No. 8 - Accel/Decel Check
______________________________
 A.  General
 (1)
This procedure makes sure of a smooth accel/decel operation with no stalls or flameouts.

 B.
Equipment

 (1)
Alcohol Thermometer - MIL-T-11399, Type ML-5
(or mercury thermometer, if not taken aboard
 airplane), -40° to 120°F (-40° to 49°C),
 |1/2°F (|1/4°C) accuracy.

Procedure

 S 715-016-C00
 (1)  Do the Accel/Decel Check
CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE TOTAL TEMPERATURE INDICATION FROM THE
_______ AIRPLANE FOR THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE. MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE LOCAL BAROMETRIC PRESSURE (NOT CORRECTED TO SEA LEVEL) FROM THE CONTROL TOWER. THIS WILL PREVENT AN INCORRECT TRIM TARGET SELECTION.
DO NOT PUT A MERCURY THERMOMETER ON THE AIRPLANE. MERCURY (FROM A BROKEN THERMOMETER) CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE COMPONENTS.
 (a)  Find and make a record of these conditions:
 1)  Make a record of the ambient air temperature (outside air temperature (OAT)) in the shade of the wheel well of the nose gear.
 2)  Make a record of the barometric pressure.
