 (a)
The warning for a not normal start condition is given by a flashing EGT indication on the EIS at a rate of 2 flashes per second.

 (b)
The EGT indication flashes for these conditions: 1) The EGT is more than 725 degrees C. 2) The engine core acceleration is less than 50 rpm/sec. 3) A corrected EGT limit curve is exceeded.

 (c)
False warnings can occur if the engine core acceleration momentarily decreases after starter cut out, and the EGT is not more than 725 degrees C. 1) The crew must carefully monitor the EGT and N2 indications

to determine if the engine must be stopped.
 a)  If the EGT quickly goes to 725 degrees C, or is more than 725 degrees C, or the N2 accleration stops or is very slow, the engine must be shutdown immediately.
 b)  If the engine start is continued with a flashing EGT indication, and the engine start is normal indications normal, the flashing EGT indication can be reset.

2)  The flashing EGT indication can be reset by pushing the RESET FUEL USED button on the EIS. a) This will also reset the FUEL USED to zero.
 R.  Start Procedure After an Emergency Engine Shutdown.
 S 912-154-C00
 (1)
An emergency engine shutdown is an engine shutdown from the power
levels that are more than the minimum idle because of a compressor
 surge or other emergency conditions.

 S 912-155-C00

 (2)
This procedure is only for an engine, which is started after an
emergency engine shutdown, for a ground test of the engine during
 maintenance.

 S 212-148-C00

 (3)
Procedure

CAUTION: YOU MUST OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE START PROCEDURE
_______ AFTER AN EMERGENCY ENGINE SHUTDOWN. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TIP SEALS OF THE TURBINE BLADES.
THIS PROCEDURE IS NOT FOR FLIGHT OPERATIONS. THIS PROCEDURE IS FOR AN ENGINE, WHICH IS STARTED AFTER AN EMERGENCY ENGINE SHUTDOWN, FOR A GROUND TEST OF THE ENGINES DURING MAINTENANCE.
THE FUNCTION OF THIS PROCEDURE IS TO KEEP THE DAMAGE TO
 THE TIP SEALS A MINIMUM.
 (a)  If the EGT was not more than the limits and the two rotors move freely, you can start the engine again with the applicable step that follows: 1) If you can start the engine not more than 15 minutes from
the time of the engine shutdown:
 a) Start the engine again.
 b) Put the FUEL CONTROL switch to RUN at the maximum speed

you can motor the engine (20-24% N2). c) Stay at minimum idle for a minimum of 15 minutes before you increase the speed to a higher power.
 2)  If you cannot start the engine in 15 minutes from the time of the engine shutdown: a) Stop for a minimum of 50 minutes from the time of the
engine shutdown before you try to start the engine again. b) After the 50 minutes, make sure the two rotors turn freely.
 c)  If the two rotors turn freely, motor the engine for approximately two minutes to permit the engine to become cool.
