(a)
Open the applicable IDLE CONT circuit breaker on the P6 panel. 1) Make sure the %N2 is in the limits for HIGH IDLE.
(b)
Move the forward thrust lever to the Static T.O. (PMC ON/OFF) N1 in one minute. 1) Let the engine become stable for a minumum of 15 seconds. 2) Make sure the engine instrumentation indications are in the
operation ranges.
(c)
Move the forward thrust lever to the idle position. 1) Let the engine become stable for a minumum of 15 seconds.
(d)
Prepare to measure the time to do this test.
CAUTION: EXAMINE ALL INCIDENTS OF COMPRESSOR SURGE (STALL) OR
_______ FLAMEOUT AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM. DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
DO NOT GO ABOVE THE ENGINE OPERATION LIMITS
(AMM 71-00-00/201). DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
(e)
Quickly move the forward thrust lever (in 1 second or less) from the idle position to the full throttle position.
(f)
Immediately after the engine gets to the Accel Check Target N1, quickly move the forward thrust lever (within 1 or 2 seconds) to the idle position.
(g)
Make a record of the time from High Idle to the Accel Check target N1.
(h)
Make sure the engine decelerates smoothly and becomes stable at idle. 1) No flameout or compressor surge (stall) can occur.
(i)
Make sure that the acceleration time from your records is not more than 7.4 seconds. 1) If the engine uses more than 7.4 seconds in the
acceleration, do the steps that follow: a) Do the accel/decel check again.
1. Make sure that you let the engine become stable at High Idle before the fast acceleration.
b) If the acceleration time is more than 7.4 seconds, start the trouble-shooting (AMM 71-00-42/101).
c) If the acceleration time is more than 7.4 seconds after all the trouble-shooting, do this procedure: Engine Operation Above The Limits (AMM 72-00-00/601).

Put the N1 reference/target bug on the N1 indicator to the automatic mode (by depressing the manual set knob).
(k)
Close the applicable IDLE CONT circuit breaker on the P6 panel.

(3) If no more tests are necessary, do the engine shutdown (normal) operation (AMM 71-00-00/201) for each engine.

10. Test No. 9 - Replacement Engine Test (Pretested)________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
This test gives the necessary data after a new installation of a replacement (pretested) engine.
(2)
A replacement (pretested) engine has completed one of the tests that follow:
(a)
The test occurred in an approved test cell with the vibration isolators on the engine mount.
(b)
The engine operated satisfactorily with the vibration isolators on the engine mount before the installation.
