2) Make sure the engine vibration levels are normal.
CAUTION: YOU MUST SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE FOR THESE CONDITIONS:
_______
-THERE IS A HIGH EGT, OR
-A QUICK EGT INCREASE OCCURS DURING SLOW THROTTLE MOVEMENT, OR
-AN INCREASE OVER PREVIOUS VIBRATION LEVELS OCCURS.
 (b)
Slowly move the forward thrust lever forward to find if the stall will occur again. 1) Make sure the EGT, N1% rpm, and N2% rpm indications follow

the thrust lever movement and the vibration levels are normal.

 (c)
If the compressor stall does not occur again and the EGT and the N2% rpm indications are normal, continue with the engine operation.

 (d)
If the compressor stall occurs again, or if the stall does not clear satisfactory, operate the engine at low idle power for 3 minutes and then shut down the engine. 1) Make a record of the operational conditions at the time the

stall occurred to help the trouble shooting.

 (e)
Do the engine stall (surge) inspection (AMM 72-00-00/601).

 K. Thrust Reverser Limits
 S 842-060-C00
 (1)
To prevent the overheating of thrust reverser components, thrust reverser operation during engine operation must be within these limits:

 (a)
Maximum N1 in reverse (static) - 40%.

 (b)
There is no time limit, if the 40% N1 rpm is not exceeded.

 (1)  Internal Engine Fire - Engine Is Not Operated
 (a)  If an internal engine fire is reported, the flight compartment persons must do these steps: 1) Make sure the engine start lever is in the CUTOFF position.

2)  If pneumatic air is supplied to the airplane, do these steps: a) Move the engine start switch to the GND position to
engage the starter. b) Dry motor the engine to extinguish the fire.
 (b)  If the fire cannot be extinguished with the dry motor
procedure, the ground persons can use the ground fire
extinguisher equipment to extinguish the fire.

Internal Engine Fire (Tailpipe Fire) During Engine Operation

 (a)
If an internal engine fire is reported during engine operation, the flight compartment persons must do these steps: 1) Move the forward thrust lever to aft to the idle position. 2) Move the engine start lever to the CUTOFF position. 3) Move the engine start switch to the GND position when the

engine speed is less than 20% N2 to engage the starter. 4) Dry motor the engine to extinguish or control the fire.
NOTE: The hot section of the engine can be resistant to
____ very high temperatures. Usually, if the fire is permitted to burn until the engine can be dry motored, there will be less damage to the engine. There will be more damage to the engine if a fire extinguisher is used. The chemicals from the fire extinguisher could cause corrosion. The engine could be damaged because the components of the engine do not become cool equally.
 a)  You can ignore the starter time limits when you dry motor an engine to clear an internal engine fire or tailpipe fire.
 (b)  If the fire cannot be extinguished or controlled with the dry motor procedure, the ground persons can use the ground fire extinguisher equipment to extinguish the fire.
