 2) Apply the deicing/anti-icing mixture using a soaked clean
 cloth on the frozen fan blades.

2)  Manually crank the N2 rotor at the N2 rotation connection on the gearbox.
 (e)  
If you find it is difficult to open the fan cowl panels or the thrust reverser because of the snow or ice, apply hot air to clear the external surfaces. 1) Blow the melted snow and/or ice from the joints and gaps

 between the fan cowl panels and thrust reverser before you open the fan cowl panels.

 (f)  
Make a check of the acoustic panels in inlet cowl and the fan exhaust duct for ice accumulation. 1) Remove the ice and apply heat thoroughly with a hot air

 duct from the heater.

 (g)  
Make a check of all sumps and strainers in the fuel system for water or ice. 1) If you find ice, apply heat [250°F (121°C) maximum] at the


 drain area until you get water-free fuel. 2) If the fuel flows freely from the drain cocks in the tank sumps and strainers, you have an ice-free system.

 (1)  Do the prestart procedure for the usual engine operation.

 CAUTION: DO NOT CONTINUE TO OPERATE THE ENGINE IF THERE IS NO INDICATION
_______ OF OIL PRESSURE WHEN THE ENGINE HAS ACCELERATED TO LOW IDLE. DO NOT CONTINUE TO OPERATE THE ENGINE IF THE OIL PRESSURE DECREASES TO ZERO AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF GROUND OPERATION. SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.
 IF YOU START THE ENGINE DURING EXTREME COLD CONDITIONS, THE OIL PRESSURE CAN INCREASE TO THE FULL PRESSURE INDICATION ON THE SCALE BECAUSE OF HIGH OIL VISCOSITY. THE OIL PRESSURE WILL DECREASE AS THE OIL TEMPERATURE INCREASES. IF THE OIL PRESSURE IS MORE THAN THE USUAL PRESSURE AFTER THE OIL TEMPERATURE BECOMES STABLE, DO THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.
 IF THE AIRPLANE IS PARKED ON ICE OR PACKED SNOW, USE A AIR SUPPLY GROUND SERVICE CART OR THE APU TO START THE ENGINE. THE ASYMMETRIC THRUST DURING CROSS STARTS CAN CAUSE THE AIRPLANE TO TURN. ICE CHOCKS AND A HIGH GROSS WEIGHT WILL DECREASE THIS POSSIBILITY.
 (2) Do the usual procedure to start the engine and add these steps:
 NOTE: Main Engine Controls (MECs) with Viton external seals
