 a) Make a record of the %N2 rpm.
 b) Push the PMC switch to the ON position.
 c) Do the engine shutdown (normal) operation

 (AMM 71-00-00/201). d) Remove the part power rig pin from the hole in the left
 fan cowl panel. e) Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201). f) Use the stable %N2 rpm (that you recorded) to find the
 adjustment (.%N2) that is necessary to get in tolerance.
 g)  Turn the tab screw on the power trim cover for three turns counterclockwise with a 9/64 inch hexagonal wrench.
 1.  Move the power trim cover away (Fig. 502).

TEST NO. 6 - MAIN ENGINE CONTROL (MEC) TRIM
___________________________________________ h) Turn the PTAS with a 5/32 inch hexagonal wrench if it is necessary to adjust the power trim.
 NOTE: One full turn is approximately equal to a
____ 1.2% change in the N2 rpm.
 1.  Turn the PTAS clockwise to increase the rpm, or
_ turn it counterclockwise to decrease the rpm. i) Put the power trim cover in its position.
 1.  Tighten the tab screw to 19-22 pound-inches
_
 (2.1-2.5 newton-meters). j) Close the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201). k) Do the part power trim check and adjustment, if it is
 necessary to get the %N2 rpm in the limits.
 11) With the engine stable at the %N2 rpm target, push the PMC switch to the ON position. a) Make sure that the PMC INOP light goes out.
 12) Let the engine become stable for a minimum of two minutes. a) Make sure that the %N1 rpm is in the limits for the current OAT and barometric pressure. b) Look at the PART POWER (P-P) PMC ON Trim Data (AMM 71-00-01/201).
 13) If the %N1 rpm is not in the limits, start the trouble-shooting (AMM 71-00-42/101) for a possible PMC malfunction.
 WARNING: IF YOU OPERATE THE ENGINE DURING THE REMOVAL OF THE
_______ PART POWER RIG PIN, OBEY THE HAZARD AREAS IN THE ENGINE (NORMAL) OPERATION PROCEDURE (AMM 71-00-00/201). IF YOU GO INTO THE HAZARD AREA, INJURIES CAN OCCUR.
 14) Remove the part power rig pin from the hole in the left fan cowl panel. 15) If no more tests are necessary, do the engine shutdown (normal) operation (AMM 71-00-00/201).
 (m) Do the power assurance check (Test No. 5).
 NOTE: The power assurance check can be done at the
____
 operator's discretion.

 (n)
Do the accel/decel check (Test No. 8).

 (o)
Examine removed or replaced components for leakage.


 1)  An oil leak may not be detected for an engine run below 70% N1.

 8. Test No. 7 - Vibration Survey

 A. General
 (1)  
This test gives the necessary data to make sure that the engine vibration stays in the permitted levels.

 (2)  
This test applies after a component replacement as it is specified in the Power Plant Test Reference Table.

 (3)  
Use the vibration survey with the trouble-shooting.

 (4)  
If the vibration levels are above the permitted levels, install the test equipment to isolate the source of the vibration.

 B.
Equipment

 (1)  
Alcohol Thermometer - MIL-T-11399, Type ML-5
 (or mercury thermometer, if not taken aboard
 airplane), -40° to 120°F (-40° to 49°C),
 |1/2°F (|1/4°C) accuracy.


 (2)  
Test Equipment - Engine Vibration
 Isolation, C71012-28 (supersedes C71012-21)
