(5) ENGINES WITH THE VIBRATION ISOLATORS FOR THE FORWARD MOUNT/ THRUST REVERSER HINGES; Remove the thrust reverser hold-open rods as follows (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the ball lock pin that attaches the hold-open rod to the strut compression rod fitting.
(b)
Hold the hold-open rod and remove the screws that attach the
fitting to the thrust reverser compression pad.
(c)
Install the cap screws and washers on the hold-open rods.

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO CLOSE THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

Close the thrust reversers (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Install the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-02/401).
NOTE: To make the installation easier, use tapered thread

protectors on the fan cowl attach bolts.

If removed, install the forward fairing (AMM 54-32-01/401).

Remove the circuit breaker lockset, and close this circuit breaker:
(a) P6-3 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) SHUTOFF VALVE ENG

(10) Do the activation procedure for the leading edge flaps and slats as follows
NOTE: If you did the deactivation procedure for the leading

edge devices only, do the activation procedure for the
leading edge devices only (AMM 27-81-00/201).
(a) Remove the circuit breaker lockset, and close this circuit
breaker:
1) P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel
a) FLAP SHUTOFF VALVE

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the flap control lever. S 864-084-C00

Remove the DO-NOT-0PERATE tag from the HYD PUMPS ENG switch on the pilots' overhead panel, P5, for the applicable engine.

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags from the start levers. S 944-172-C00

Remove all objects from the engine inlet and work area which can go through the engine during an engine operation.

Test the engine with the Power Plant Test Reference Table, Test number 9 or 10, as applicable (AMM 71-00-00/501).
CAUTION:_______ DO NOT LEAVE TOOLS OR OTHER OBJECTS IN THE ENGINE INLET. IF
THESE OBJECTS GO THROUGH THE ENGINE, DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN
OCCUR.
