CAUTION: DO NOT WET MOTOR THE ENGINE, IF FUEL IS NOT NECESSARY FOR THE
_______ PERFORMANCE OF THE TEST. DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT REPLACE AN IDLE LEAK CHECK BY A MOTORING TEST. YOU CAN NOT DETECT POTENTIAL OIL LEAKS WITH A MOTORING TEST. IF YOU DO A MOTORING TEST INSTEAD OF AN IDLE LEAK CHECK, DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
(1)
Do the dry or wet motor procedure, as it is necessary for the test (AMM 71-00-00/201).
S 795-024-C00
(2)
Examine the applicable component or system when you motor the engine.
(a)
Make sure that the component or system operates correctly.
(b)
Make sure that there is no leakage.
1) For leakage in very cold weather, refer to the procedure, Power Plant Operation - Cold Weather (AMM 71-00-00/201).

TASK 71-00-00-795-004-C00
4. Test No. 3 - Leak Check - Idle Power____________________________________
A. General
(1)
The idle leak check has the tests that follow for the correct engine operation:
(a)
The connections do not have a leak.
(b)
The operation noise is correct.
(c)
All of the engine related instruments have the correct indications.
(d)
Do a visual leak check, if you disconnected the engine tubes during the maintenance procedure (and you did not do a static pressure check).
(2)
Do the idle leak check with the thrust reversers and the fan cowl panels closed and latched.
(3)
To find a leak source, do the leak check with the fan cowl panels open at the low idle.
(4)
Make sure that you obey the engine hazard areas and the open cowl limits (AMM 71-00-00/201).
NOTE: You can remove the fan cowl panels if you do the leak
____ check above the idle power position. Above the idle power positions, we do not have the entry/exit area for the engine maintenance. You must obey the increased engine hazard areas.
