On the P5 forward overhead panel, make sure these switches are in the correct position:

 (a)  
BAT (Battery) Switch
 on the AC and DC Metering Panel -ON


 (b)  
AC METERS selector on the

 AC and DC Metering Panel - GRD PWR or APU GEN depends on power source

 (c)  
GRD POWER switch on the
 Ground Power and
 Generator Ammeter Panel -ON


 if external power is used

 (d)  
All FWD, CTR, and AFT
 FUEL PUMPS switches
 on the Fuel Control Panel -OFF


 (e)  
L PACK and R PACK
 switches on the
 Pneumatic Control Panel -OFF


 (f)  
ISOLATION VALVE switch on the
 Pneumatic Control Panel -OFF ##


 (g)  
No. 1 and 2 BLEED switches
 on the Pneumatic Control Panel -OFF


 (h)  
WING ANTI-ICE switch on the
 Anti-Ice Control Panel -OFF


 (i)  
No. 1 and 2 ENG ANTI-ICE
 switches on the
 Anti-Ice Control Panel -OFF


 (j)  
HYD PUMPS switches on the
 Hydraulic Control Panel -OFF

 Make sure the circuit breaker for the applicable engine is closed.

 (a)  
On the load control panel, P6-2:
 1) START VALVES ENG 1
 2) START VALVES ENG 2

 For Engine No.1, open these circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags.

 (a)  
On the load control panel P6:
 1) ENG NO.1 LEFT IGNITION
 2) ENG NO.1 RIGHT IGNITION

 For Engine No.2, open these circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
On the load control panel P6:
 1) ENG NO.2 LEFT IGNITION

D.  Do the Dry Motor Procedure.
 S 862-123-C00
 (1)  Dry motor the engine.
 CAUTION: THE FUEL PUMP AND THE MAIN ENGINE CONTROL ARE FUEL
_______ LUBRICATED. DO NOT MOTOR THE ENGINE UNLESS THE BOOST PUMP PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE FUEL PUMP INLET.
 CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY BOOST PUMP PRESSURE TO THE FUEL PUMP INLET IF
_______ YOU DRY MOTOR THE ENGINE FOR POWER PLANT PRESERVATION -30 TO 365 DAYS - SERVICABLE POWER PLANT. FUEL WILL SPILL ON THE ENGINE AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
 (a)  On the engine to be dry motored, apply boost pump pressure to the fuel pump inlet as follows:
 NOTE: Boost pump pressure is not necessary if you dry motor
____ the engine for this procedure: Power Plant Preservation - 30 to 365 Days - Serviceable and Not Serviceable Power Plant (AMM 71-00-03/201). Because the engine fuel supply line has been disconnected and capped, fuel boost pump pressure can cause the cap on the supply line to come off and fuel to spill on the engine.
 1)  Make sure the circuit breaker for the applicable engine on panel P6-3 are closed. a) FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1 b) FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
 2)  Move the applicable start lever to the IDLE position.
 3)  Make sure the FUEL VALVE CLOSED light on the pilots' overhead panel, P5, comes on (valve in transit) and then goes out (valve open).
 4)  Open the circuit breaker for the applicable engine and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: a) FUEL SYSTEMS SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1 b) FUEL SYSTEMS SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
 5)  Move the start lever to the CUTOFF position.
 CAUTION: FUEL BOOST PUMP PRESSURE MUST NOT BE APPLIED WITH
_______ START LEVER IN IDLE POSITION AND ENGINE FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE OPEN AS FUEL COULD ENTER COMBUSTION CHAMBER.
 6)  Put the FUEL PUMPS FWD and AFT switches for the tank with the same number as the engine to be motored to the ON position. a) These switches are on the Fuel Control Panel, on the
 forward overhead panel, P5. b) Make sure the two applicable LOW PRESSURE lights go out.
