Other Procedure
1) Drain the engine lubrication system. a) Drain the engine oil tank (AMM 12-13-11/301). b) Drain the accessory gearbox (AMM 12-13-11/301). c) Remove the scavenge oil filter element
(AMM 79-21-04/401). d) Put a container below the oil supply filter. e) Remove the filter drain plug and let the oil drain. f) Remove the magnetic chip detectors (AMM 79-21-05/201).
2) Let the oil fully drain.
3) Remove the oil drain adapter from the drain port of the oil tank. a) Push the adapter into the drain port while you turn it
counterclockwise. b) Pull the adapter down and remove it from the drain port. 4) Install the drain plug in the oil tank. a) Lubricate a new O-ring with engine oil and install it on the drain plug.
CAUTION: DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE O-RING DURING THE
_______ INSTALLATION. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE O-RING, OIL LEAKAGE CAN OCCUR.
b) Carefully install the drain plug into the drain port of the oil tank. c) Push the plug into the drain port and turn it clockwise until the locking pins are fully engaged. 5) Install the drain plug into the accessory gearbox. a) Lubricate a new O-ring with engine oil and install it on the drain plug.

b) Lightly lubricate the threads of the gearbox drain plug with engine oil.
c) Install the drain plug.
d) Tighten the plug to 180-200 pound-inches (20.3-22.6 Newton meters).
e) Safety the plug with a lockwire.
Install the scavenge oil filter element (AMM 79-21-04/401).
Install the drain plug for the oil supply filter.
a) Lubricate the new O-ring with engine oil and install it on the drain plug.
b) Install the drain plug.
c) Tighten the plug to 43-48 pound-inches (4.9-5.4 Newton meters).
d) Safety the plug with a lockwire.
Install the magnetic chip detectors (AMM 79-21-05/201).
Do the preservation procedure for the engine lubrication
system.
a) Use a cart or a hand pump with a volume measuring device to fill the locations that follow with one of these mixtures at a maximum pressure of 50 psi (345 kPa):
-
Engine oil and 5 percent by volume of preservative
oil (CP2259) or
-
Engine oil and 7 percent by volume of anti-corrosion
oil additive (CP2039).

b) Install caps on all lube system ports, tube openings, drains, and vents to seal the lube system.

Make sure all disconnected lines and electrical connections have caps on them.

Seal the inlet and exhaust openings with the vapor barrier film.
(a) Attach the vapor barrier film with tape.
