 (1)  If you will install used parts, do this task: "Outboard Aftflap Drive Mechanism Inspection" (AMM 27-51-40/601).

 (2)  
Install the upstop fitting (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Put the upstop fitting (34) in its position and install the bolt (65) and the washer (66) (Section G-G):


 NOTE: Make sure you do not disengage the special nut.
____
 (b) For bolts without drilled heads, do this step:
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL A NEW BOLT WITH THE CORRECT
_______ GRIP LENGTH ON THE UPSTOP FITTING. USE A BACB30LM10-58P BOLT ON THE INBOARD SIDE OF THE CARRIAGE. USE A BACB30LM10-56P BOLT ON THE OUTBOARD SIDE OF THE CARRIAGE. BOLTS WITH AN INCORRECT GRIP LENGTH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY.
 1)  Tighten the bolt (65) to 150-200 pound-inches (17-23 N-m) above the run-on torque.
 NOTE: Make sure the run-on torque is at least
____ 32 pound-inches (3.6 N-m).
 (c)  For bolts with drilled heads, do these steps:
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE UPSTOP FITTING BOLT (65)
_______ WITH THE CORRECT GRIP LENGTH. THE BOLT (65) ON THE OUTBOARD SIDE OF THE CARRIAGE IS SHORTER THAN THE BOLT (65) ON THE INBOARD SIDE OF THE CARRIAGE. BOLTS WITH AN INCORRECT GRIP LENGTH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY.
 1) Tighten the bolt (65) to 150-200 pound-inches (17-23 N-m) above the run-on torque. 2) Install lockwire on bolt (65).
 (d)  
Apply a thin layer of the grease to the bolt (59), spacer (63), and roller (62).

 (e)  
Install the bolt (59), lube fitting (61), roller (62), spacer (63), washer (60), and nut (64).

 (f)  
Tighten the nut (64) to a torque of 270-300 pound-inches (31-34 N-m).

 (g)  
Install the bolt (50), washers (48 and 49), and nut (58).

 (3)
Do this task: "Geneva Cam Installation" (Ref Paragraph 11).
