D. Procedure

(1)
Install midflap crank attach fitting (4) (Detail G, Fig. 401):
(a)
Make sure the aftflap is attached to the midflap.
(b)
Apply the sealant BMS 5-95 to the threads of the nutplates on the midflap crank attach fitting (4).
(c)
Put the attach fitting (4) on the midflap.
1) On the inboard track, connect the attach fitting with the bolts (100, 104 and 116), washers (101, 105 and 115), shims (99 and 103) and spacers (102 sand 106).
2) On the outboard track, connect the attach fitting with the bolts (108 and 114), washers (109, 111 and 113), shims (107), and spacers (110 and 112).
(d)
Adjust the thickness of the shims to get the clearances shown in Sections J-J, K-K, L-L, or M-M.
(e)
Tighten the bolts (100 or 108) to 36-44 pound-inches (4-5 N-m).
(f)
Tighten the bolts (104, 114 and 116) to 76-94 pound-inches (9-11 N-m).
(g)
Install the lockwire on the bolts.
