(1)
Do this task to remove the foreflap carriage stop: "Inboard Flap Outboard Track Removal" (AMM 27-51-25/401).

(2)
Remove the corrosion from the track surface.
(a)
Machine or hand clean the top surface of the track to remove the corrosion.
NOTE: Do not remove more than 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) of
____ material. Keep a 63 microinch (1.6 micron) finish (SOPM 20-10-02).
(b)
Shot-peen the repaired surface (SOPM 20-10-03).
(c)
Apply low hydrogen embrittlement cadmium plating to the repaired surface (SOPM 20-42-10).

Remove the corrosion from the foreflap carriage holes (if it is necessary).
(a)
Ream the holes to 1/16-inch (1.59 mm) oversize to remove corrosion and to prepare to install the bushings.
(b)
Apply a low hydrogen embrittlement cadmium plate to the holes (SOPM 20-42-10).
(c)
Prepare the bushings from 17-4 PH CRES.
NOTE: The inner diameter of the bushings must match the bolts
____ with a 0.0003-0.0014 inch (0.008-0.036 mm) interference fit.
(d)
Apply a low hydrogen embrittlement cadmium plate to the bushings (SOPM 20-42-10).
(e)
Install the bushings in holes.

Finish the Repaired Areas
(a)
Apply one layer of the epoxy primer to the cleaned area.
(b)
Let the primer dry.
(c)
Apply one layer of the decorative enamel.
(d)
Let the polyurethane enamel dry.

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure: There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of an inboard flap track fairing.
(1)
The fairing removal procedure has these parts:
(a)
The extension of the flaps
(b)
The removal of the access panels
(c)
The removal of the fixed fairing
(d)
The installation of the support equipment
(e)
The removal of the movable fairing.
(2)
The fairing installation procedure has these parts:
(a)
A check of the parts for worn areas
(b)
The installation of the movable fairing
(c)
The removal of the support equipment
(d)
An adjustment of the fairing
(e)
The installation of the fixed fairing
(f)
The retraction of the flaps
(g)
The installation of the access panels.
