 D. Procedure
 S 424-009
 (1)  
Install the foreflap carriage and toggle (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Remove the flight and deadweight rollers, the failsafe link, and the guide strip from each side of the carriage and toggle.

 (b)  
Put the carriage and toggle in its position on the flap track.

 (c)  
Install the guide strips, aft deadweight rollers and the failsafe link on the carriage and toggle. Attach them with the bolts, washers, shims and the nuts.

 (d)  
Put the flight rollers in their position on the carriage and toggle.

 (e)  
Attach the flight rollers with the bolts, washers and the nuts. 1) Tighten the nuts to 120-144 pound-inches (14-16 N-m). 2) Install the cotter pins

 (f)  
Lubricate the carriage lube fittings with the grease.

 (g)  
Move the foreflap carriage aft and engage the toggle roller into the flap track detent.

 (2)  
Install the links, bolts, and the nuts which attach the foreflap to the cam tracks.

 (3)  
Connect the carriage and toggle to the inboard foreflap
 (Ref 27-51-02/401).


 (4)  
Remove the supports from the foreflap.

 (5)  
Pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 CAUTION:_______MONITOR THE FLAP MOVEMENT CAREFULLY. THE FLAPS CAN BE DAMAGED BY INCORRECTLY ADJUSTED COMPONENTS.
 (6)  Extend and retract the flaps. Make sure that the flaps move freely.
 NOTE: If there is internal friction, the carriage rollers can
____ move and not turn. You must replace the rollers only if there is a flat worn area on the bearing surface more than
 0.32 inch long.

 INBOARD FOREFLAP CARRIAGE AND TOGGLE - INSPECTION/CHECK
_______________________________________________________
 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks, an inspection of the inboard foreflap carriage and toggle following removal of the parts and an inspection for flat spots on the flight and center toggle rollers on the airplane. To do the first task, you measure the inner or the outer diameters of the bearings and bolts which connect the flight rollers and deadweight rollers to the carriage and toggle assembly. To do the second task, you extend the flaps and inspect the flight rollers and center toggle roller for flat spots.
 B.  The first task of this procedure is usually done before a carriage and toggle assembly is installed. The check must be done with the carriage and toggle removed from the airplane and disassembled. The second task of this procedure, the inspection of the flight rollers and center toggle roller is done on the airplane.
