Use the spanner wrench adapters to tighten the nut to
3500-4000 pound-inches (400-450 N-m).
(g)
Install the lockwire on the nut and the washer.
(h)
Fill the fuse bolt with BMS 3-24 grease.
(i)
Install the retainer and the plug.
(j)
Install the four ring spring bolts with the heads down (Section A-A, Fig. 401): 1) Apply a layer of BMS 3-33 grease to the bolts. 2) Lubricate the ring springs with BMS 3-33 grease. 3) Lubricate the self-aligning washers with BMS 3-33 grease. 4) Install the washers, ring springs, self-aligning washers
and nuts in the sequence shown in Section A-A, Fig. 401. 5) Tighten the nuts to 800-1400 pound-inches (90-160 N-m) to engage the ring springs and the self-aligning washers.
(k)
Adjust the ring springs one at a time: 1) Loosen the nut until the ring spring can be turned freely on the bolt. 2) Tighten the nut slowly until you cannot turn the ring
spring by hand. 3) Tighten the nut one full turn. 4) Make sure the chamfer of the bolt goes through the nut.

Remove the sling from the flap track.

Support the airplane on primary jacks I, II and III (AMM 07-11-01/201) before adjusting the tension tie shims.
(a)
Pressurize the primary jacks IV and V to 25,000 +/- 1000 pounds, VII and VIII to 20,000 +/- 1000 pounds, VI to 20,000 +/- 4,000 pounds.
NOTE: The right side jack is to be within 1000 pounds of the
____ left side jack at each jacking station. Engines or engine weights are to be installed at all locations. The wing landing gear must be configured with the weight of the inner cylinder, tires and trucks resting on the floor.

3) Tighten the nut to 220-360 pound-inches (25-41 N-m).
(b) Align the link with the tension tie.
NOTE: The link should be bolted to the tension tie and shim
____ assembly only after the fixed trailing edge panel is correctly rigged (AMM 57-22-01/501).
1) If the bolt holes will not align, change the number of
shims below the tension tie. 2) Remove the tension tie. 3) Add or remove the shims if it is necessary to align the
bolt holes. The maximum clearance between the flap track
and the tension tie is 0.005 inch (0.13 mm). 4) Apply a layer of primer on all bare surfaces. 5) Put the shims and the tension tie in their position on the
track. 6) Install the four bolts, washers and nuts.
(c)
Install the bushing in the link.
(d)
Install the bolt, washers and nut.
(e)
Tighten the nut to 1100-1300 pound-inches (120-150 N-m).

Install the safety strap:
(a)
Apply a layer of sealant to the surfaces of the wing structure and the safety strap.
(b)
Apply a layer of sealant to the bolt.
(c)
Put the safety strap in its position. Install the bolt and the nut with the bolt head on the inboard side.
