WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.

Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the inboard flaps and attach a DO-NOT-MOVE tag.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system No./1: "Depressurize Hydraulic Systems" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Hold the inboard flap track fairing in the extended position.

Remove the drive rod (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the bolt, washers and nut that attach the drive rod to the midflap fitting (Section F-F).
(b)
Remove the bushings from the midflap fitting.
(c)
Remove the bolt, washers and nut that attach the drive rod to the fixed drive link (Section A-A).
(d)
Remove the bushings from the fixed drive link.
(e)
Remove the drive rod.

Remove the midflap fitting (Fig. 401):
(a)
Disconnect the drive rod from the midflap fitting (Section F-F): 1) Remove the bolt, washers and nut that connect the drive rod
to the midflap fitting. 2) Move the drive rod from the midflap fitting. 3) Remove the bushing from the midflap fitting.
(b)
Remove the midflap fitting from the midflap (Detail B): 1) Remove the bolts and washers from the midflap fitting. 2) Remove the shims and the spacers from the midflap. 3) Measure and write down the thickness of the shims.
