On the inboard flap tracks, remove the four bolts (10) washers (8 and 12) and nuts (11) that connect the gimbal caps (7) and the gimbal.
(d)
Remove the gimbal caps from the ball screw nut.
(e)
Move the ball screw aft, out of the universal joint. Remove the ball screw from the airplane.
NOTE: Make sure that you hold the ball screw during the
____ removal. The ball screws at positions No. 1, 2, 7 and 8 weigh approximately 40 pounds. At positions No. 3 and 6 they weigh approximately 70 pounds. At positions No. 4 and 5 they weigh approximately 90 pounds.
