(1) Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system No. 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.

Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the outboard flaps and attach a DO-NOT-MOVE tag.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system No. 4: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Remove the fairing attachment fitting (Fig. 401):
(a)
Hold the outboard flap track fairing in the extended position.
(b)
Disconnect the fixed drive link from the attachment fitting (Section C-C): 1) Remove the bolt, washers and nut that attach the pin to the
attachment fitting. 2) Remove the pin from the attachment fitting and the fixed drive link.

Remove the three bolts from the two sides of the flap track (Section D-D):
(d)
Remove the two bolts from the top of the flap track.
(e)
Remove the three bolts and washers from the bottom of the flap track.
(f)
Remove the attachment fitting and the shims.
(g)
Measure and write down the thickness of the shims.

C. Procedure

(1)
Install the fairing support fitting:
(a)
Adjust the support fitting to the length shown in Section A-A, Fig. 402.
(b)
Attach the support fitting to the fairing fitting (Section A-A, Fig. 401): 1) Install the bushings in the fairing fitting. 2) Put the support fitting in the fairing fitting. 3) Install the bolts, washers and nuts.
