 OUTBOARD FLAP TRACK FAIRINGS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are two tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of an outboard flap track fairing.
 (1)  
The removal procedure has these parts:

 (a)  
The extension of the flaps

 (b)  
The removal of the access panels

 (c)  
The removal of the fixed fairing

 (d)  
The installation of the support equipment

 (e)  
The removal of the movable fairing.

 (2)  
The installation procedure has these parts:

 (a)  
A check of the parts which attach the fairing for worn areas

 (b)  
The installation of the movable fairing

 (c)  
The removal of the support equipment

 (d)  
An adjustment of the fairing

 (e)  
The installation of the fixed fairing

 (f)  
A retraction of the flaps

 (g)  
The installation of the access panels.

 (1)  
PF51-009-1 Fishpole Hoist, pneumatic powered, (2 are necessary) (preferred).

 (2)  
PF51-003-1 fishpole hoist, manual (optional to PF51-003-1).

 (3)  
PME65B00110-53 Flap Track Fairing Handling Dolly

 (4)  
OHME65B00110-53 Flap Track Fairing Bootstrap Clamp

Prepare for the Removal

 S 864-002
 (1)  Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system No. 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 (2)  
Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the outboard flaps.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system No. 4: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).
