Remove the inboard foreflap carriage and toggle (AMM 27-51-24/401).

Examine the bearings, bolts and rollers on the inboard foreflap carriage and toggle for worn areas:
(a)
Remove the parts to be examined.
(b)
Measure the parts.
NOTE: Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper.

(c) Compare the dimensions you measured, with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.

Replace the parts which are not in the tolerance.

Replace a roller if it has a flat worn area wider than
0.32 inch (8.1 millimeters).
NOTE: Measure chord-wise along the roller surface.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THE FLAPS WILL MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
(2) Put the flap control lever in the 5-unit detent to move the flaps to the 5-unit position.
