THE SPLINE SPACE WIDTH THE SPLINE TOOTH WIDTH TRANSMISSIONS NO. 1, 4, 5, 8 TRANSMISSIONS NO. 2, 3, 6, 7 THE SPLINE BACKLASH MEASURED AT THE PITCH DIAMETER TRANSMISSIONS NO. 1 AND 8 TRANSMISSIONS NO. 2 AND 7 TRANSMISSIONS NO. 3 AND 6 TRANSMISSIONS NO. 4 AND 5 ATTACH A DIAL INDICATOR TO THE TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SHAFT AND MEASURE THE SIDE MOVEMENT
BETWEEN THE OUTPUT SHAFT AND THE YOKE ASSEMBLY. THE MAXIMUM MOVEMENT MUST NOT BE MORE
THAN 0.0340 INCH (0.86 mm) - AT ALL TRANSMISSIONS. ATTACH A DIAL INDICATOR TO THE YOKE ASSEMBLY AND MEASURE THE SIDE MOVEMENT BETWEEN THE YOKE ASSEMBLY AND THE OUTPUT SHAFT. THE MAXIMUM MOVEMENT MUST NOT BE MORE THAN 0.0340 INCH
(0.86 mm) - AT ALL TRANSMISSIONS.
WITH THE FLAPS IN THE EXTENDED POSITION, PRY UP ON THE OUTPUT SHAFT AND MAKE SURE THAT THE RELATIVE MOTION BETWEEN THE OUTPUT SHAFT AND THE HOUSING IS NOT MORE THAN 0.020 INCH (0.51 mm). MEASURE THE DEFLECTION WITH A DIAL INDICATOR.
REFER TO THE OHM FOR REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS AND COMPONENT PART REPLACEMENT.

 FLAP CONTROL INPUT LEVER ASSEMBLY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the input lever assembly. The input lever assembly includes the actuator, the housing, the lever, and the control rods.
 (1)  
The procedure has these parts:

 (a)  
The installation of the body landing gear door locks

 (b)  
The removal of a torque tube

 (c)  
The removal of the input lever assembly

 (d)  
The installation of the input lever assembly

 (e)  
A check of the adjustment of the flap control system

 (f)  
The removal of the body landing gear door locks.

Prepare for the Removal


 S 864-002
 (1)  Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.

Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Make sure that the ground lockpins for the landing gear are installed.
