INBOARD AFTFLAP DRIVE MECHANISM - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure; an inspection of the parts of the inboard aftflap drive mechanism. The parts include bushings, bolts, bearings, screws, and the hook of the geneva cam.
B. You usually do this procedure before you install a component of the drive mechanism. To do the inspection, you must remove the part from the airplane.

Do this task to remove the component from the aftflap drive mechanism: "Inboard Aftflap Drive Mechanism Removal" (Ref 27-51-39/401).

Examine the parts of the aftflap drive mechanism for worn areas:
(a)
Remove the parts.
(b)
Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper to measure the parts.
(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimension shown in Fig. 601.
(d)
Repair or replace the parts that are not in the tolerance.
(e)
Install the parts.
