(1) Pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
(2) Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the flaps.

Release the pressure in hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Install supports on the foreflap to make sure that the bolt which attaches the foreflap and toggle can be removed.

Disconnect the carriage and toggle from the inboard foreflap (Ref 27-51-02/401).

Remove the carriage and toggle (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the bolts from the links which hold the forward side of the foreflap cam tracks.
(b)
Remove the bolts, washers and the nuts which connect the flight rollers to the foreflap carriage and toggle.
(c)
Remove the flight rollers.
(d)
Remove the bolts, washers, shims and the nuts which connect the failsafe link, aft deadweight rollers, and the guide strips to each side of the carriage and toggle.
(e)
Remove the failsafe links, rollers, and the guide strips.
(f)
Lift the carriage from the flap track.
(g)
Reinstall the flight rollers, the deadweight rollers, the failsafe link, and the guide strips on the carriage.
