 (1)  
If you will install used parts, do this task: "Outboard Aftflap Drive Mechanism Inspection" (AMM 27-51-40/601).

 (2)  
Install the geneva cam (Fig. 401).

 (a)  
Apply a thin layer of grease to the bolt (52) and the bushing (53) (Section F-F).

 (b)  
Put the bushing (53) in the support fitting.

 (c)  
Put the geneva cam in its position on the carriage.

 (d)  
Install the bolt (52), washer (51), bushing (53), and lube fitting.

 (e)  
Install the shim washers (51 and 57) if it is necessary to get the clearances shown in Section E-E.

 (f)  
Install the washer (55) and the nut (54) on the bolt.

 (g)  
Tighten the nut to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34 N-m). Continue to tighten the nut to align the subsequent cotter pin hole.

 (h)  
Install the cotter pin.


 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ENDS OF THE SPRING ARE FREE TO TURN.
_______ THE SPRINGS CAN BE DAMAGED IF THE ENDS CANNOT TURN.
 (i)  If it is necessary, install the springs on the geneva cam (Detail F): 1) Install the bushing (94) in the springs (37) and install
 the flanged bushings (90) in the bushings (94). 2) Install the bolt (91) through the flanged bushings and the
 spring support (98). 3) Install the washer (96) and the nut (97) on the bolt (91). 4) Install the screw (93) through the bushing (92), flanged
 bushings (90) and spacer (95). 5) Install the washer (96) and the nut (97) on the screw (93). 6) Tighten the nuts to 50-80 pound-inches (5.6-9.0 N-m). 7) Install the cotter pins.
 (j)  Connect the pushrod (Section H-H): 1) Install the bushing (72) in the geneva cam. 2) Put the pushrod (1) in its position in the geneva cam. 3) Install the washer (69) between the rod end and the bushing
 (72). 4) Attach the rod end with the bolt (67), washer (68 and 70), and nut (71). 5) Tighten the nut to 120 pound-inches (14 N-m). Continue to tighten the nut to align the subsequent cotter pin hole. 6) Install the cotter pin.
