Put the two bearing plates in their position on the sideload fittings.

Ream the bearing plates and the bushings to 0.7495-0.7505 inch (1.904-1.906 cm) diameter.

Install the inboard flap outboard track:
(a)
Install the two plain bushings in the flap track aft mounting bolt holes. Make sure that the bushings are installed as shown in section A-A.
(b)
Use the flap track sling to align the flap track forward mounting bolt hole with the support fitting bolt hole.

Apply a layer of BMS 3-24 grease on the shank and the threads of the fuse bolt.
(d)
Put the countersunk washer on the fuse bolt.
(e)
Install the fuse bolt, washers and nut as shown in Section B-B.
(f)
Use the spanner wrench adapters to tighten the nut to 1400 pound-inches (160 N-m). Continue to tighten the nut until the subsequent slot in the nut and bolt are aligned, but not more than 2100 pound-inches (237 N-m).
(g)
Make sure the sum of the clearances A and B between the flap track and the bearing plate is 0.01-0.09 inch (0.3-2.3 mm).
(h)
Fill the empty space in the fuse bolt with BMS 3-24 grease.
(i)
Install the retainer plugs, lock cap, bolt, washer and nut.
(j)
Tighten the retainer bolt nut to 12-15 pound-inches
(1.4-1.7 N-m).
(k)
Install the cotter pin.
(l)
Align the flap track with the sideload fitting.
(m)
Apply a layer of sealant to the bottom of the head and the shank of the mounting bolts.
(n)
Install the bolts, washers, lube washers and nuts.
NOTE: Make sure that the lube fittings point inboard or
____
outboard (within 5 degrees).
(o)
Tighten the nuts to 1700-2100 pound-inches (190-237 N-m).
(p)
Apply a layer of sealant to the bolt heads and the washers.

Remove the sling from the flap track.

If the tension tie is not installed on the flap track, install the tension tie.
(a)
Attach the tension tie with the bolts, washers, shims and the nuts.

Support the airplane on primary jacks I, II and III (AMM 07-11-01/201) before you adjust the tension tie shims.
(a)
Pressurize the primary jacks IV and V to 25,000 +/- 1000 pounds, VII and VIII to 20,000 +/- 1000 pounds, VI to 20,000 +/- 4,000 pounds.
NOTE: The right side jack is to be within 1000 pounds of the
____ left side jack at each jacking station. Engines or engine weights are to be installed at all locations. The wing landing gear must be configured with the weight of the inner cylinder, tires and trucks resting on the floor.

Attach the clevis rod to the tension tie:
(a)
Align the clevis rod with the tension tie.
NOTE: The inboard trailing edge flaps must be fully rigged
____ before the tension tie is shimmed.
1) Add or remove shims if it is necessary to align the bolt holes. The maximum clearance with the shims installed is
0.005 inch. 2) Apply a layer of primer on the shims. 3) With the primer wet or dry, install the rivets to hold the
shims together. 4) Clean the surface of the shims and the tension tie. 5) Apply adhesive to the surfaces. 6) Bond the shims to the tension tie.
